Grooms ring is here- and i'm disappointed!
What lighting can do for a picture! The first photo is what I thought I ordered. The "S" looks like it is silver in color. The second photo is the ring I received. The "S" is black. I called customer service to complain about the ring I received. The customer service lady told me it that the "S" was silver. I was not convinced and had her pull one from stock while I waited on the phone. She confirmed that the "S" was black. Her words to me was must have been the lighting. I told the woman that they should put a description on the item on their website so other customers are not fooled by what they pay for. The FH still likes the ring even though I think it looks kind of cheap with the black. As long as he is happy I guess.

Sand Ceremony Kit on order!
I just purchased our Sand Ceremony Kit. It is this exact kit with the three vases. Each vase holds 1 lb of sand. The heart vase holds a total of three lbs of sand. I chose the colors of aqua blue, dark pink and brown. These colors match the colors I am using in the bar/dance floor area. I will display this in the bar area and reuse a few of the vases to hold the bridesmaid bouquets.

Bling for the High Boy Cocktail Tables
I just purchased these 1/3 and 1 carat sized turquoise bling for my High Boy and Cocktail Tables in the bar area. I will have candles on the table as well so it will really reflect the bling! I got 2000 which is probably more than I need. I will fill votive holders with them too and put a tealight in each. A girl has to have her bling!

My Handfasting cord in progress!
Shannon and I have incorporated a Handfasting into our ceremony. For those of you that are not familiar with a Handfasting ritual, here is an explanation:
Handfasting is an ancient Celtic custom, especially common in Ireland and Scotland, in which a man and woman came together at the start of their marriage relationship. Their hands, or more accurately, their wrists, were literally tied together. This practice gave way to the expression "tying the knot" which has come to mean getting married or engaged. This ribbon cord will be wrapped around our wrists as we say our vows. The Ribbon has shades of silver, gold, aqua, and two shades of pink. I will be attaching charms and some beading to the ribbon as well. I have previously purchased the charms and sent them in to Kindra who is making my cord. The charms are posted in another post. They are a crown and fleur di lis, a heart shaped lock and key, and another that is not posted here. I'm so excited to see it in person. |

I found these really cute teapot planters for my bridal shower. They have so many different styles and patterns. We are planning on using them on the tables at the shower. We will be putting potted flowers in each one. My mom is going to pick up 5 of them tomorrow at Michaels with her 30% off coupon. I'm so excited about this find!

Purchased FH ring!
I swear Shannon is more excited about his ring than I my own! He doesn't think it is fair that I get to wear an engagement ring and he has to wait until the wedding day to wear his. I love this ring! It is a traditional band but with a fun twist, the Superman emblem. It is made out of stainless steel. My FH has metal allergies so this should work out good for him. Plus, this will look so fun in pictures!

Hoping to finalize my linen order
Update 4/9/09: Linens have been finalized!
I have chosen all of my linens. I'm really excited to see it all come together. In the main dining area we will have the guests tables covered in a cotton candy pink satin linen with a champagne chiffon pinch overlay with irridescent beads, cotton candy satin napkin, gold chargers and gold chivari chairs with the cotton candy pink satin cushion. The head table is a darker champagne color with a pink blinged out embroidered pattern, gold chargers, pink cotton candy satin napkins, and cushions. We will use this linen on the cake table as well. The guestbook table will be the cotton candy satin linen. The bar area will consist of the high top tables in a chocolate broomstick pattern tied with a fuschia ribbon. The lower tables will have the same pattern table linen in chocolate with the gold chivari chairs and a fuschia chair cushion. These will look great with the hot pink and turquoise lighting. I'm meeting to hopefully finalize my linen order on Thursday. Things are starting to come together. So much to do, so little time... |
