I'm on the hunt for the perfect shoe. My dress is ivory and I would like to have a colored shoe. Either a pale pink or pale blue maybe. I don't want the traditional ivory colored shoe. So i'm on the look out!

Any "Rock 'n' Roll" Brides out there?
So I am a total rocker. I would love to infuse some "Rock and Roll" into my wedding. Are there any brides out there doing this? I am going to play some rock music like the Vitamin Strings during dinner. Music is a big part of me, I would love to see some of my inner rocker in my wedding.

I have yet to book with my baker but here is one cake they have done that I just love. I love the shape and the jewels in the middle. I can definitely turn this into a "Marie" cake. I'm looking into doing a mostly fake cake for show and sheet cakes for cutting. This cake is made of fondant which I'm not a fan of, but you can do so much with it. I have tasted their cakes and the buttercream is amazing. I can't wait to book with them.

Is everyone having the dream wedding or are you being practical?
I think I'm having a little of both. I have had to make some sacrifices but overall, I think I'm going to have a beautiful wedding. I will admit, I have over done it in some areas. What can I say, I have champagne taste on a bud light budget! How is everyone else faring? Are you staying in budget? Do you even have a budget? Are you living the dream or settling?

Dinner Music
So I'm not really feeling the whole Jazz or Crooner music my DJ says they typically play during dinner. Bebrightpink has this great post about this group called Vitamin String Quartet. I'm thinking of having my DJ play this instead of the typical music that is normally played. If you can tell from my posts, I'm not exactly a traditional bride. Here is her post:
I stumbled upon an awesome group on iTunes. The Vitamin String Quartet plays cover songs with a 2 violins, a viola, and cello. It is beautiful and a classy way to incorporate your favorite hits into your ceremony. Check 'em out on iTunes...they have a couple wedding albums, the Modern Wedding Collection, Indie Wedding, etc. I like some hits off of their other albums, too.      |
