Wedding Flowers
Another successful day at the florist!
My florist is amazing! She is extremely patient with me as I am pretty picky. This was my third trip to see her. My initial visit was what I like to call a first draft. The numbers didn't work and I didn't feel satisfied leaving there the first time with my vision intact. So we went back for a second visit. On the second visit I met with the owner Liz who got a better understanding of what I wanted. We were able to scale down and make some more choices. This third visit was to re-tool everything. We started from the beginning to make sure we had all the main elements down and made a few changes. I changed the bridesmaids bouquets entirely. To Roses and Lisianthus. We are adding some pink ostrich feathers as well, not the entire drab, we are plucking the feathers from the drab so the will hang down like a collar. (See second photo, this bouquet for my girls but different colors) but It is really starting to come together now. My next visit will be on July 1st where we will finalize the colors. She is ordering a bunch of the flowers we had chosen in to her shop in the color palette I'm leaning towards. This will give us a better look to see if it needs any tweaking. What I'm most excited about is that the florist is loaning me her cute little tiffany blue chandlier (I had first seen laying on a table when I came into her shop) to hang over the sand ceremony table in the gazebo. I bought a 6ft crystal garland to drape over the arms of the chandelier. I can't wait to see how it will turn out. We did a sketch of how the draping would go on the gazebo along with the chandlier. We are tying in some of the extra feathers as well and adding some hot pink ribbon and hopefully adding some flowers if the budget allows. We are also adding some hanging crystals in the tall pilsner centerpieces as well and wrapping the base with paris pink tulle. (See third and fourth photo). I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Ask a Question
What is your grand entrance song?
Our space doesn't allow for an elaborate grand entrance. My FI and I are not real grand entrance people. That is more my sister than me. We have chosen the song Plainsong by the Cure which is the same piece of music they used in this scene (see photo) in the movie. It definitely has presence and in our case works out great for our entrance song.

Flower girls shoes
A wink at the movie Marie Antoinette
In the opening credits of the movie Marie Antoinette, you see a quick glimpse of Converse All Star's on the floor with the other fabulous shoes (see second pic). I will be having my flower girl Remi where pink converse under her dress. It will be so cute!

Ask a Question
Is anyone nervous about being the center of attention?
While I consider myself a pretty outgoing person, my fiance is rather shy. I still am a little self conscious about everyone staring at me, etc. Anyone having any anxiety over it, or are you planning on basking in all the attention?

Wedding Decoration
Love this idea!
Found this cute idea on Victoria with Roses blog. While I don't have space to do this at my venue, I love this idea of writing the menu on a mirror. I imagine writing it with a bright pink lipstick with maybe a kiss print on it. That would be fun! Ooh, wish I had the space!

Wedding Invitation
What I'm working on now...
Sorry for the lack of posts ladies, I'm currently working with my stationer Lindsey from LindseyRyanDesign on Etsy on menus, favor tags, table numbers and programs as well as some additional invitations. My originial invitations while beautiful, cost me a bundle. I couldn't order enough for every one I was inviting because of the cost so I am having Lindsey recreate them with a twist. Lindsey did my shower invites and she is fantastic. She created a beautiful design for me which we are incorporating into the other elements listed above. I can't wait till I have samples to show you. She really took my vision to heart and created something wonderful. My whole vision is very Modern Vintage. Juicy Couture meets Marie Antoinette. I call it Rock N' Roll Royalty. So I wanted to incorporate a crest with a crown and fleur di lis detail along with some vintage flourishes. We incorporated an old english font for the monogram in the crest that screams rock. It is so cool! Can't wait to show you ladies!

Bridal Shower
Pics from my Mad Hatter Tea Party Bridal Shower
Everything turned out great today. Here are some pics of the table centerpieces and various decorations at the shower. Also a few personal pics of myself and my sister the Matron of Honor. Everyone loved my "Alice" inspired outfit. The gifts were on each one of the guests chairs. We rung a bell and everyone had to pass there gifts to the left. We did this a few times throughout the shower. Everyone got a kick out of it. The Alice trivia questions were a hit as well. The decorations consisted of clocks and teapot centerpieces. Tea cups filled with m&m's and mints. Alice inspired cards with alice quotes. The posters around the room also consisted of Alice quotes and photos which served as clues during the trivia question and answer session. I love the playing card men I created and the rose bushes. I put silk red roses in each rose bush since they hadn't quite bloomed yet. I spray painted some of the white roses red just like in the movie. The rose bushes were given as gifts to my mother and mother-in-law for throwing the shower. I will post more pics once I receive them. These photos don't show off my adorable mary jane shoes.
