How did you choose your theme? - Inspiration Boards
I've always been in love with the 1940's era, so i was just going to have my girls wear 40's fashion....but when we changed our venue, everything started to come into place...and alot more vintage. Since our venue is an old theater and my FH is in the film biz, we decided 1940's film should be our theme. It all just fell into place.

How did you get your theme?

lol, i think you've seen how many times my theme's changed! We always wanted something really rustic, and I wanted a bit of a vintage flair to it, but with the 40's theme we were doing, it sort of just evolved based upon the venue. Now it's becoming more rustic because we're outdoors/in a nature based venue. :) pretty much, we let the venue dictate. lol.

My theme came from vintage Eisenberg rhinestone brooches from the '20's and '30's that I gave my bridesmaids . My wedding took on a whole Glamour Girl Great Gatsby theme....we even had an old timey photo booth where the guests went inside to take pictures of themselves, write a message on it and leave it in a pre-made scrap book for my husband and I to have for memories.

I loved every minute of it...

We chose something that we both had an interest in and that has been apart of our lives for basically forever. And it was an important factor in us becoming friends, which then led us to dating. It has a special meaning to us.

Hey Retro!  My Dad is also from the islands - San Miguel. I think his village was called Ponta Dalgada (sp?).  Anyway, I am really loving your theme here.  Our wedding is more of a country club theme than anything else.  We also have some vintage touches!

Oh my gosh I changed my theme so many times. I always thought I wanted a fall wedding since I love fall and all of it's colors. Then I changed my mind to Bonnie/Clyde cause I loved the era and the style, then I changed to my favorite colors of Hot Pink and Orange, then I became obsessed with the Breakfast at Tiffany's theme after seeing a wedding done on the Today Show by Martha Stewart. So I became a blue bride on this site. Than I saw fabulousmrsklein's blog and was hooked on Marie Antoinette. I went out watched the movie and fell in love. My venue I chose sealed the deal and the rest is history. I finally found a theme that stuck!

Its just who we are. Our theme is "Rock Hollywood" which means old school rock and vintage hollywood. We are both rock people. He loves film noir, and I've been dancing swing since 97. I can't imagine doing it any other way.

I found some picture with old antique keys on it early in the planning process and fell in love with its simplicity and beauty, plus it has that whole "key to my heart" connotation. And then keys led to iron gates, and that ended up tying in with our ceremony site because there is a big iron gate there.
