don't be a hater!
I'm sorry but this is a total rant on my part. I thought that this blog site was supposed to be a site where girls with a common interest (our wedding) go online and share ideas and tips with each other! I didn't realize that this was were other girls got to check out other brides ideas and totally dis them! I'm so tired of looking at other peoples comments on peoples site and see some of the other brides talk down about their ideas. I think that this is totally classless and I know that most of us on here don't want or need to hear about anyones negative comments.
I personally love this site and I get so many fabulous ideas from it I recommend it to everyone. Most of us have so many great ideas and I think its great to have a forum to share our thoughts and ideas. This is supposed to be a respectful forum where we as brides support each other and our ideas. I just don't think this is the place to get katty and disrespectful. So for all of you haters on here keep your comments to yourself! Does anyone else feel my frustration???? |

Bridesmaids
Started to buy thier gifts
So I found out from one of the girls on this site (ladybug) about a great place to buy jewelery for my bm's. I went online and found Tiffany & Co Necklace and bracelet sets. So I got them!!!!! I got 5 sets for the great price of $100.00!!!! Including shipping!!! Ladybug said that she was very happy with her product so I am not concerned at all. I can't wait to receive them! Keep your fingers crossed they look good!
Since I got these pieces of jewelery for such a low price I now can go through with my other idea of filling up a tote bag full of fun little things for the girls to enjoy. So I'm going to hand make the tote bags with iron ons and then I am going to make the girls thier own t-shirts for the bachorlette party and for the day of the wedding (pre- ceremony) I'm also going to give them a pedicure set with some nice foot lotions. Some flip flops for the reception and some yummy candy b/c I'm addicted to candy! |

to choose or not to choose?????
So since I can remember I have always believed that when I get married my closest friends who will be standing up with me would be able to choose their own dress. Now that I am getting married I still like that idea I have chosen black as the dress colour and I have stipulated that I would like it to be a solid black I don't care what kind of material as long as there is no pattern; but I'm still concerned; what if I don't like the dress they choose? What about you fellow b2b are any of you letting your BM's pick the style of their dress????

Wedding Reception
I got my date!!!
feeewwww it has been pretty nerve racking the last few days. I have been anxiously awaiting to hear if I got my date at the holiday inn. When I had first visited the holiday inn I really wanted June 27th but that date had been booked. The only free day in June was the 13th and I really didn't want that date because it seemed too early for me. So my second choice was the 20th. Unfortuantly it wasn't so easy to hook because another couple had it on a tenative hold. I had to give them three business days to confirm the date. Well after three long days Jeff, my wedding coordinator at the HI called me. He told me he had bad news. "ooohhh no, they gave you the deposit for my date the 20th" I said. "Well," Jeff started "you will have to give up your date of the 13th because YOU GOT THE 20th!!!!!" he exclaimed!!!! I am so happy I got that date! Now I can start to really plan for my wedding!

a few things that make me smile
I love this colour!!!! Although I don't want my wedding to be all pink. I actually want it to be the accent colour. This wedding is going to be a classy affair. Black and White with a touch of pink. My bridesmaids will wear whatever black dress they want and they will carry pink peonies. those are my favorite flowers!!!! Under my wedding dress I have decided to wear hot pink shoes so that maybe every once in a while my guest will get a hint of drama when I walk down the runway! I can't wait!

Wedding Dress
Oh the drama
I have always known that I wanted a different dress than what is popular out there now. I had heard about David's Bridal from a friend and since I live very close to the states I decided to go there to find the dress of my dreams. I spent a whole week at this store. (well every night for three nights that is). The first visit I went with my sister (MOH) and my friend Tara (BM) I found two very cool dresses and already I thought I had found the one. The only problem was my Mom wasn't there and I needed to have her opinion. (it is very important to me) So the next night my mom came with me. I showed her the two dresses and they didn't have the same effect on me as they did the night before. Probably because my mom wasn't in love with them. So we kept looking. After about 15 more dresses I remembered that there was a dress in their catelogue that I had forgotten about. It had caught my eye; how could I forget about it. So the lady brought it to us and commented how she had never seen anyone try this dress on. She also said that my size was the only size they had in this dress. The second I put it on I knew that this was the one. Tears came to my eyes and I felt like a princess in it. I didn't think I was the type of girl to cry over stuff like this. My mom loved it and I was head over heals with it. The only problem was my sister wasn't there so before I could make the final decision I had to have her there. Skip forward to the next night Kelly and I go to DB and she loves it and I am still in love with it. So we buy it. I have decided that the dress is going to be kept secret from everyone until my wedding day. I want everyone even my closest aunts to be surprised. can't wait to get married!!!!

The Proposal
Surprise!
Patrick and I had been dating for 6 years and all the while we were living in Toronto. Well just before we were leaving our home town to move to Waterloo I suggested that we throw a goodbye party so that we could party one last time with our friends. Patrick suggested that the night before this party we throw ourselves our own farewell to Toronto party. He was going to meet me at a upscale restaurant (b/c we are both foodies) where we were going to sit at the chef's table. Very romantic!!! After our dinner Patrick thought we could take a boat cruise on the harbourfront. I of course assumed that this would be the night that he would propose. (i have been waiting for this moment for what seemed like ages). Anyhow the night goes on we eat an amazing meal. I drink great wine and we notice we are running late. Patrick changes our plans and decides that the harbourfront tour is out. Its too late! No problem, he suggests that after we our done our meal we will go to another bar for some martini's. So here I'm thinking that that is when he will pop the question! Well dinner runs even longer and by the time it is done its so late and I have had enough to drink. So we bike home. As I'm bikig home I start to realize that there was no proposal. No romantic end to the night, just a great dinner! Well I start to feel sad and as we are going into our house I'm thinking to myself "don't look sad maybe its not tonight its okay" Just then we walk into my house and there were candles lit, rose petals on the floor and champaign in an ice bucket. I look at Patrick and he got down on one knee.
It was the best surprise ever!!!!!! I totally didn't expect that and I give him alot of credit b/c it was so hard to surprise me! Love my babe! |
