My Little Inspiration Board-Do you like it?
So...just as I predicted, because I know myself oh so well, I have changed my wedding colors again. First black/white damask w/yellow accents, then lavender, pink...well right now I have settled on the color of burgundy. When will it end? Actually I know what my problem is...I haven't paid for any of my decorations so I just keep looking. I know once some cold hard cash is spent my search will cease.
Upper LH side is my dream bouquet. Isn't it gorgeous! I am getting married in late September, around the beginning of Fall and thought these cranberry and light pink mix would be perfect. We do not have a lot of money on flowers so instead we decided to set the mood with lighting. Most likely we'll have some flowers during the ceremony and all of the bridal party will have flowers, but other than that just lights and candles. Upper RH corner: is my inspiration for centerpieces. I have thought about using Ball Mason Jars and wrapping the base of it with cranberry garland and then tying the rim of it, where the lid would normally go, with cranberry colored satin ribbon. Bottom LH corner: picture of the type of lights we'll be using. Bottom RH corner: my invites from weddingpaperdivas.com Lemme know if you have any suggestions, questions, comments, or if you like it? |

Wedding Cake
DIY Cupcakes, Should I or shouldn't I?
So I have been thinking long and hard about ways to cut costs. A few things I came up with was to do:
1) CANDLES INSTEAD OF CENTERPIECES (instead I'm going to have a beautiful bouquet, bridesmaids small bouquets, and boutainnaires/corsages for parents/grandparents/groomsmen) 2) NO LIMOUSINE OR HIRED TRANSPORTATION We're just gonna do-up my FH car and bridal party will drive their own POV's too. 3) DIY WEDDING INVITES I'm going to be ordering pearlesecent cardstock and paper from paperandmore.com and assembling and printing them myself. 4) HOME MADE CUPCAKES So this is my area of concern. All other areas of cost-cutting doesn't involve too much manual labor nor will it be done they day before the wedding. Does anyone have any personal experience positive and negative on DIY cupcakes. I want to buy a regular cheesecake from Costco and then do white chocolate raspberry cheesecake cupcakes for our 80 guests! Advice please. |

Centerpieces
I don't know what you call this arrangement of flowers?? I just say they're ball shaped. I know that doesn't provoke images of grandeur very well though. Oh well, they are shaped like balls. Anyway the white flowers I love love love love. They're white roses and I think the florist paired it really well w/such a unique vase. That is exactly what I want, except with yellow roses. My fh's sister says we can do it ourselves, but looking at the yellow bouquet that looks like a lot of roses. I will be looking around for other diy brides and seeing how much time they're devoting to their centerpieces. I for sure will hire a professional for the bridal party bouquets/boutanaires.

40's style hairdo's
I was getting my nails done w/my soon to be suegra (mother-in-law) and found this picture of Heidi Klum in US magazine. I tthink it is really pretty. What do you think? I saw this same type of hairstyle a couple days ago while looking at other wedding hairdos and was kicking myself for not bookmarking it. I really like this style for me, because I wouldn't have to grow my hair much longer and I know the curls would be able to hold in my very straight hair since the style isn't super curly. I know from the past that my hair does not hold curl well, so why fight it? I attached some other similar looks. I found these pictures when I searched 40's style hair.
