Making Your Own food?
To cut back on the cost of a cater, we're going for it! We love Pasta Milano so much at the Macaroni Grill that we want it at our dinner reception. It's expensive to buy it from them at $55.00 a pan for 8-10 people. I found the recipe on line and was really excited! I talked to my H2B again about this and he offered to do the grilled chicken himself, so we are going to create this menu ourselves! We'll be saving about $200.00 if we create this ourselves...

Wow. We're not as ambitious as you are! We're making our own food for the rehearsal dinner, but not the reception. Your pasta sounds delicious.

ha! we are doing our own food too. the key is.. cook the night before... have relatives heat up for dinner at the reception. my fiance and one of his groomsmen are both chefs. are already have a menu down that is so easy to heat up and put out on the buffet. this is what my family always does. my reception hall has a full professional kitchen that we use. I'm also doing the cannoli's!
