Who has/had the biggest guest list at WBC? How Many Guests Are You Inviting?

we invited about 300 :(

The venue both of us fell in love with and was in price range only holds 200 max so it looks like we will be cutting the guest list some or doing a B guest list!

Our list is small-- we are only inviting close friends and immediate family-- so it will be around 50 people. That way, we get a chance to really spend time with the people we love instead of trying to make uncomfortable small talk with strangers  =)

I'm with mrsbrett....we are having a small wedding about 40 people.  I wouldn't have it any other way--I've talked to so many people who invited a TON of people and although they had a beautiful wedding...they said they didn't get time to enjoy a lot since they were so busy talking with people...I just didn't want the extra stress of all the people!  Bless you brides like futuremrsvince who are having a large wedding...I just don't think I could do it.

Ours is pretty similar...we have about 76 guests who have RSVP'd so far. There are about 5 or 6 people we haven't heard from who we're pretty sure will make it. So 80 is a good number!

we are inviting 100 people, but more than likey about 70-80 will show.

Oh yes, I agree with you Mrsbrett, Tiggre99 because all our guests got the amount of attention needed that day. They definitely felt loved and not ignored or shuffled to the side. Actually, my guests thanked us for the hospitality and feeling really comfortable that night. It was like...intimate and fun!

Still want to know how many more guests are invited out there. Looks like futuremrsvince got us all beat? Wowie!

We invited 145 people....127 RSVP'd and about 122 showed up. One of the people that didn't show up was our priest, but he had told us he might not make it, but we reserved another spot for him. Two of the guests that didn't show were my cousin and her boyfriend. She didn't even call to say she couldn't make it, or even send me a facebook message. I had to hear from our other cousin that her babysitter canceled. Which I completely understand, but she could have at least called. The other two that didn't show were dates of our guests.

We definitely couldn't even do a small wedding! FH dad's side with aunt/uncles and first cousins came totally in at 94 people, we still had his mothers side and both of my parents side.

All together we ended up with 325-350 invited quests which came out to 170 invites...we have recieved almost half of the RSVPs back...they have til next Friday but I won't call the ones who didn't until September 10th - in case they ened time and the holiday that Monday. We've only gotten about 6 declines...so I'm nervous. I was really hoping we would be at 275 attending...but who knows!!!!!

LOL - yes futuremrsvince! We actually have a couple getting married the week after ours and they are dairy farms and have a guestlist of 800+ b/c they are inviting the grooms family business's all their customers

We have a guest list of 309 right now and are hoping that under 250 show.

we are sending 150 invites..expection 200 to 225 people

I think Mauibride had the LARGEST guestlist on WBC. I cannot remember the number but I do remember my jaw dropping to the floor for about an hour after I saw her guest count. It was unreal!

We are inviting around 160 but we only expect maybe 100 of them to come since a good bit live out of state.....we are actually kind of hoping for a small number lol

Ours is only going to be around 120.  My FI's best friend just broke up with his long-term girlfriend (whom I really liked, for the record) and I actually said "well, that's one less person we have to pay for".....I felt awful!!  lol

I know I dont have the largest, but I will jump on anyway! 225 guests invited.

215 invited, which is small for me. My parents had over 500 and I said NO WAY!!

Wow ladies! Looks like a lot of guests no matter what! Shreeewwww! I'm glad it's over. I do kind of miss the the hype of the craziest, but not really!  Wow HotPink! That would of been amazing! And Futuresmrst: "Mauibride, I really feel for you and all that planning too!

We're having 250-300 if it goes through? LOL It's really nice seeing how many guests are invited. Interesting?

We're inviting 235, and hoping for around 175.  I would prefer less, but my family by itself is almost 100 people... and that's not extended family (which for my family includes 2nd cousins and out).

We are havin sort of a small wedding so it will be about 50-75 ppl.

Thanks Rhonda for your comments on my post about "The BAD & The UGLY"!!  I can tell you it sure wasn't me with the biggest guest list...but now I see that we both had pretty much the exact same thing happen at our weddings!!  We were expecting 80 guests based on the RSVP's that said "YES" and we sent out 100 invitations, but I knew about half of them weren't gonna come anyways cause they're distant relatives that I don't really even know anyways and they don't really know me either, but my mom still wanted us to send invitations to them lol...and hey we still got some $$$ from them so I can't complain LOL!!!  But all in all, we only had about 55 (maybe 60...at best) guests who actually showed up, and that's if you count the wedding party too!!!  So I agree with you 100% that it's extremely RUDE for people to tell you that they're coming and then they don't show up or let you know ahead of time or anything...that's money going right down the drain!!!  I don't know about you....but there's still a few people that even after the wedding haven't given me an explanation about what happened...and they still haven't even asked how the wedding went??!!!!!  Most of the people have, but for the ones who haven't...now how F@$*&D up is that???!!!!

I hear you loud and clear Im2babyblue4u! It is the rudiest thing when you plan for these amount of people and no shows. I never got an explanation either, but it was Memorial Day weekend and I think that had a big play in the no shows! I know that some had to work or they wouldn't have gotten their holiday pay (blackmailed), some went away for that 3 day weekend as well, but the others?  No excuse!  Just plain rude!

We had initially hoped for a guestlist of about 130. However, that obviously didn't happen. The invitees ballooned up to 250. But, guests that actually attended topped off at 200. Only about 10 persons RSVPed saying they will attend and didn't show...which is still rude and a waste of our money.

I think there will be about 20 no shows. It's at least a 1.5 hour long drive one way for most people.  So same thing: even though my mom wants me to send them an invite, if I don't hear from these distant relatives, then I know not to count them.   If it's a cozy wedding with just close friends, I'll be happy.  I have a huge immediate family though.  So that plus all of FH's super close diff circles of friends, I would say we are looking at 220 but possibly plus 30.  This is not bad considering we bought 175 invitations and now we have a lot left over.  We really overstimated and could have definitely got away with buying 150 invites easily.

Well for our modern and simple Beach Wedding on the Friday we will have about 70 ppl to the day and maybe 150 at night
HOWEVER
the following day at the traditional Turkish Wedding Ceremony in my FHs village we are looking at about 400+ Ppl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And for a bride who doesnt like much fuss or being stared at that is going to be INTERESTING LOL :-)

LOL yes alot of guests!!!
For these traditional turkish wedding parties, EVERYONE comes- and i mean your aunties next door neighbour who brings her sister and HER neighbour ETC ETC most of the village will go and normally its about 250 people or so
HOWEVER
as my FH is marrying a BRITISH GIRL (this hardly EVER happens) all the village and their families will want to come just to be nosey buggers and stare at the yabancı (foreign girl)LOL
My FH has warned me but said its lovely because they are all just interested in me and my family so GOD HELP ME :-) hhahaha

sadly our guest list is around 420....our venue seats around 325 so we are hoping only 300 come......the worst part is the list is almost all close friends and family so there were few we could cut...oh well

We invited 225.... had to leave a lot of people off.  But ones that asked to come didn't show.  Show about 200 attended!

Wow, we're having a lot of 300's out there! Keep up the good work ladies. From 50-300 guests, this is a lot of work and I am so proud of each and every one of you ladies! Good Job!

We invited 70. I hope 70 show up because if they don't we still have to pay for them anyway. :(
