Wedding Dress
Winnipeg Bridal Gowns Under $500
I originally wanted vintage but was urged to try on a mermaid dress, because of my "hour glass" figure. (Pfft, more like a gourd!) Imagine my shock. I liked the way it smoothed out my figure, and made me look slimmer without having to drop pounds. (Lots of boning help!)
So away I went around town trying on several dresses, and found a dress at LA Collection that I loved. But alas couldn't get it because I couldn't afford it. The lady (Nicole) tried hard to cut me a deal but if I couldn't justify it, and my fiancée would shit a bird. Was seriously hell bent on ending my search today, I spent half a day developing a headache at the Wedding Show, and was just so frustrated. So annoyed at the fact that anything with the word "wedding" attached to it automatically has $1000 on top what would normally cost say $500. Off I went, walked into Jessica Bridal. They had alot of sample / stock dresses selling under $500. I couldn't freakin believe it. There were awesome mermaid dresses (lots from size 4 - 12) but too bad there weren't may in my size. (I'm really good at eating, FYI.) I did manage to find one that looked good, even the other customers gave me their honest opinion. So I bought it. Cost me $446.00 (and some change) including taxes. My dress fit perfectly so I didn't need alterations. Also there were many other dress styles from princess, mermaid / trumpet, A-line gowns ranging in size from 4 to 22. So anybody out there looking for a deal I would go there. The ladies are nice, and the older lady will give you an honest opinion. (Jessica's is on Portage and Sherbrook, parking available in the front.) Will post a dress when I pick it up on Monday. |

1950 - 60's Vintage Wedding Dress Search
Wow. These dresses are really hard to find. The ones I've found, unfortunately I cannot afford. (Ie; Candy Anthony) Been doing alot of wedding research and I understand now why people incur such large debts, because a good chunk goes into the dress!
What I'm looking for; (Not an actual old vintage dress, just the style. I want my own dress, not used.) -vintage style wedding dress from 1950 - 60's -tea length -off white -under $500 (good luck - I know!) -chiffon or tulle There's so many stores in Winnipeg, I find it almost daunting to look through each one to get what I want. But in the end it's worth it! |
