Down in the Dumps
the EXPO triggered it!

OK ladies. I went to the ohio valley bridal expo today and i was able to find a photographer who is reasonably priced AND who does natural lighting photography!! I also found a videographer that i LOVE. they are everything i could hope for.... however, they're wedding packages *start* at $2500!! my budget for video was like $1200 tops! i tried moving things around in my budget sine video is a priority for me but even sacrificing some decorations and baked goods wont do the trick.

I keep finding a lot of budgeting problems and i feel like just giving up on trying to make this my dream wedding. its not going to be like having David Tutera, its not going to be the dream wedding i wanted in California... i feel like just going straight to the airport from the church. My FH tells me to not get upset over video, decorations, etc... because we're marrying each other in a sacrament and that's all that really matters....

but doesnt he know little girls dream about this their whole lives?!

I'm just frustrated and feeling hopeless. I can barely afford school so i dont know why i thought i could afford anything that remotely resembles my dream wedding.

any advice? am i being selfish? [probably yes] help, my fellow brides!

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way. I wanted to first do the wedding two years ago, but financially, it just wouldn't work. Do you think pushing the date back will help or are you adamant about getting married at the date you have now? Or maybe one of you getting a second job?

well i'll still be in school so it has to be this summer otherwise we'll have to wait until the next summer when i'm out of school again :/ we both work full time and take classes so we'll just have to make it work i guess.

thank you for your suggestions though! wedding planning is hard!

I wouldnt say your selfish..It does suck when you start to plan and everything you ever dreamed of cant happened like you dreamed, its natural...But hubby is right, the day isnt about how david tuteray it looks, or the amount of flowers and glam the day is about you two getting married and joining as one, not about of glam will change that, still I know when you have your heart set on sumthing you cant help but to feel bummed and still want it. There was so many things I sacrificed not having in my wedding that was hard to let go but I just kept telling myself my day wont be any less special without it. I want my wedding beautiful so people say wow they had a real nice wedding, and one they will remember. Maybe you should try craigslist, I had found a real cheap videographer on there, I didnt end up using him but he was pretty reasonable, its kinda scary not n=knowung wot or who this person is on craigslist lol, but so far things worked out for me, I found a great priced DJ and a great priced photographer, hopefully they do well =) hope this helps a little, just remember it doesnt make you selfish at all but a way to get through feeling bummed is to remember what the day is about, it does help =)
