This is the final draft of my save the date! I just ordered 50 so that should cover every one on my side of the family, and then a few for Justin's long distance relatives. We decided not to send save the dates to the people here who are local because its a small town so their calendars are already marked as it is so the formal invitation will be enough notice.
I have the majority of my envelopes for STD's addressed so that's good too. What i did notice about this design is that it really doesnt have any of my wedding colors in it haha. I'm having navy blue, light green, and ivory. This is the design for my actual invitation too. But, I love the design so much that i really dont care! Is that bad? I mean, the underlying theme is peacock. for example, the girls will have peacock accessories, the guys peacock boutonnieres, center pieces and flower arrangements all will have peacock feathers in them. So really, its not terrible if the green and navy blue aren't emphasized in the invite, right?
Plus I think I've changed my mind about center pieces. At first i wanted tall, but FH said he didnt like them so we ordered quart sized mason jars to use instead. Then we saw a wedding [in person] with tall centerpieces and FH said he actually liked them. Well I have 12 Mason Jars now so I'm thinking I will give some as gifts to the people who are helping us prepare food for all the parties we've had and for the people who will rush to help me that stressful week before the wedding. Then I will have 8 BMs at the head table so I think I will have 8 Jars for them to put their bouquets in during the reception. what do you think?
As for my change of heart.... I think i want tall vases with peacock feathers inside the vase and then blue, green, and ivory hydrangea sitting on top. I got my inspiration from the picture on the left. [in the lower left hand corner of the picture you can see a zoomed in example of what i mean]. Since the reception is in the evening i think the tall centerpiece is better because it gives a more elegant feel but the flower choice and display still maintains that rustic vibe. I'm welcome to more opinions though!
Hope you all are happy planning!
