FH and I were invited to a wedding yesterday even though we only knew the mother of the bride-- only.the mother of the bride.
Despite the potential for awkwardness, I decided it would be good to go because its the closest thing to a practice run a bride can have! I know, I know... whats the rehersal dinner for? But honestly, when else do you get to see the layout of a reception unless you go to one??
There were no flowers and everything was citrus. Cute theme! Very summer chic. However, the hall the reception in was terrible! hugeeee cracks in the floors, the whole building would shake when the train went by, and FH parents actually had their reception there and the only reason i know that is because i recognized the americana decor from their wedding video.... filmed in the 80's...
However, the bride was happy and thats all that counts, right? Needless to say I feel less stressed about the venue i picked in comparison. Not trying to hate on this other bride... we all have different budgets, etc. I'm just saying, i was feeling worried that my family from "The Hills" in CA would find my Ohio reception to be cheap and tacky since NOTHING compares to the venues and scenery of SoCal.
WIth one month to go I am getting SO EXCITED! I already have 111 people who said they are coming! I'm pryaing for my day and every other WBC bride's day to go flawlessly!
Happy Planning Ladies!
