update on bridesmaid convo....
Ok so I had probrobly the most ingenius idea ever (ok well not really) and went to see my obsessive eating bridesmaid (the one i was on about in my last post)
About 3 months ago i took body measurements of all my girls so i could start looking for dresses (its a bit hard to get them all together at once) and i took my tape measure and her last measurements with me yesterday and told her that i needed to take them again cause people's bodies change etc etc. I also told her that im looking at these particular dresses but they only go up to a certain size. Well she's put like 7cm on her hips since last time and naturally she wanted to see what the measurements were compared to the last lot and she noticed the difference....and looked totally shocked (yeah...like eating crap all day isnt going to make you pork out girl!) anyway I said nothing about the difference but she told me what i already knew about her eating habits and said she was going to try and fix it cause she's miserable being so big. YAY im a genius! :) |

Bridesmaid eating out of control?
I honestly dont want to sound like a big 'ol bridezilla here so hopefully I can explain this right......
One of my bridesmaids is a size 16-18 AUS womens size which is like a 14 US size and for the past couple of months she's been deliberatly eating cr@p constantly (as in whole buckets of KFC chicken and a massive bottle of coke for breakfast!!!!) and has put on a ton of weight. I dont know how stuff works in america with dresses but here it goes size 6-18 then your into plus sizes which you normally can get to match the standard sizes. I'm the one paying for the bridesmaids dresses and I cant be buying multiple dresses for one girl just cause she cant keep her hands away from fat-filled goodies! Not to mention the fact she's already given herself gaul (sp???) stones in the process. I want to have a talk to her about the issue of her being 1: a totaly glutten 2: the expense she's going to put me through if she keeps it up and 3: the possibility that her weight will effect her ability to fit into the dress i want for ALL my girls and I will not be happy if she cant pull it together in time. What do i do? Im not the kinda person who discriminates against bigger people (im not stick thin myself) nor do i like to intefere with other peoples business but she's going to cost me a fortune which is then my business and she also will throw the look of the bridal party out if she has to wear something different to everyone else. Do i just shut up and hope to god that she turns into a gym junkie before the wedding or do i try to get it through to her that maybe she should consider others when going through the drive through next???? |

 candles and long tables like this (without the intersepting flowers) candles intersepted every 4th person down with these 4 sided thingies but in beige and black really poor example of sage green table cloths with black lace overlay. The lace Im using is a floral pattern, much pretier and less full on black chair covers with green sashes like this     |

So I thought i'd share our table decos for the reception. Our seating will be like 3 really long rectangle tables that seat 20 people down each side.
I've put up a few pics that im using details from since i cant find a pic of what we're doing exactly, which sh!ts me to no end but on the other hand im totally chuffed cause i appear to be doing something outside the wedding box :D Ok so the first pic is what we're doing for 'centerpieces' its going be to take about 500 3" pilar candles to do all our tables and rather than have the flowers every so often we're going to do even breaks and put the 3D thingies in the next pic there, which are menus one two opposite sides and a thanks for coming thing on one side and reception order of service on the remaining side....but they'll be in black and biege The third pic is kinda like our table linen. We're having plain sage green table cloth with a much nicer black floral lace covering the whole table over the top so you get the green through the black. And in the last pic we're doing the black chair covers with the sage green fabric (not organza) sashes and to top it off I found black and sage green jacquard print fabric for the napkins and ive got metal gold (not real.....der!) napkin rings |

Although its apparently like a photoshop type make up applicator computer program where you open up a head shot of yourself and then digitally play with colours, skin tone, eye makeup, lippie bla blah Im actually thinking it might be a cool way to see what colours work and what dont without the mess/expense if you dont own alot of colour verses actually doing it for real
You can download the trial version for free from here if anyone else is interested http://www.colorpilot.com/makeup_examples.html The only limitations the trial version has is that it will only save your work in a specific file type but who hasnt ever heard of parting the screen and saving it in paint as a jpg tee hee Also for total DIY brides it might be an option for someone wanting to touch up those non-pro happy snaps (like the horrid ones your bridesmaid takes at 4am pre-makeup and coffee) |

anyway back to whinging....why is it so friggin hard to find a retail cocktail length dress, in sage green with a black satin bust with black lace over the bottom half of the dress that is v-necked at the front and is cut the same at the back that isnt 3/4 length (ewww on the make-you-look-2ft-shorter effect) that isnt fitted on the hip section (damn fat BM) that is age appropriate for a 13yr old and a 23 yr old.....that doesnt cost a bloody zillion dollars Somehow i think im thinking a bit wishful :( |

Hi all,
Well yesterday was the last day of calico drafts, my wedding dress is getting cut and sewn this week.....omg am I so nervous but so glad to have all the fitting crap over with :) FYI my wedding dress is a designer inspired dress being made by a local designer/dressmaker (and before anyone flips out....no we arent copying it...we're just using the pic to get a feel of what im looking for...although we are having the fold things on the side YAY) In the end mine will be a latte colour dupion silk. And since im totally new to here i thought id share my insp pic :) Sam. |
