I love the Dessy dress. It's simple but still very pretty and you can definitely dress it up where you like!! Very pretty dress.

Wedding Dress
i'm so indecisive...
There's been a lot of going back and forth on this decision. It's probably the hardest decision I've ever had to make. Usually I find something, I say that's it and then it's a done deal. But this... I can't do this. I haven't found anything that I really LOVE and quite honestly, I'm sick of searching. I don't believe it's out there and I refuse to pay the money to have it custom made. I'm having second thoughts about the dress I thought I wanted last night. Admittedly, part of my indecision is because my dad's been going back and forth on the dress I really liked last night. At first his reaction was "nah, I like the first one more." then when I talked to him today it was "actually, I like this new one better." My mother's not been too thrilled with any of them, but if she had her way I'd probably have some super traditional, princess dress. Chris & his mom both have their wants & ideas and I really don't know what I want anymore. When I first started looking around i didn't really have any idea what I wanted. I just knew I didn't want strapless & I didn't want anything too over the top- Simplicity was the word of the day. I still want simplicity, but I'm not finding anything with the simplicity that also has understated elegance without being too structured, too I dunno what the word is. I've pretty much narrowed the choices down to 4. The 2 I've posted previously, the trumpet gown that I wanted for our old plans & another one I found a few weeks ago. But I'm not overwhelmingly happy about any of them. Dress 1- the strapless floral Davids Bridal Dress. It is gorgeous. And it makes me look super thin (well, apart from my arms but that can be fixed) but there's just something about it that kind of irks me. probably the fact that it has the overlay- it would look better to me if it was plain satin. Dress 2- strapless plain satin Davids Bridal dress with sash. It looks nice. It's Chris' favourite. I hate the cuff on the neckline, but upon closer inspection, that could easily be removed & flipped onto the inside. However, I prefer the sweetheart neckline & I'm not sure how easy it would be change that. Beth, the mother of our flower girl & ring bearer said that if I wanted to change the sash, she'd make me a different one- perhaps using silver & white fabric, or a plain silver so we could put a brooch on it. Dress 3- Casablanca 1910, satin trumpet dress. I was in love with the Lazaro version, and then i found the casablanca knockoff that's only a fraction of the price. I know I can wear the trumpet style & I love the simplicity of it, but I sort of feel like perhaps its a little too structured for such a semi-formal event. Dress 4- Casablanca lace halterneck. It really is beautiful. And it looks good on but again, perhaps a little too fussy for a semi-formal wedding at the beach. What I *really* want, and have had to compromise on, is a tea length gown. I would *LOVE* a tea length gown. But neither my family nor his approves, so the compromise is that I can change halfway through the reception & wear it for the after party. so, I really don't know... Ooh.... so, while writing this I came across a dress by Dessy- It's one of the cheapest I've found! It's super plain, but that's okay. I love the princess seams & godet skirt. It leaves room for me to dress it up. It only has a sweep train though but that doesn't bother me any. Beth could make a sash for it & put it under the bust, so that it has some detailing to it & I could pin my luckenbooth to the bow. I'm sorta liking the idea. |
