squee! my first wedding related purchase!

A while ago I'd posted an ad on craigslist asking for vases. That was before we ended up changing all of our plans & now the ad is pretty much redundant but I haven't got around to deleting it. lol. Anyway, last week I got an email from a girl asking if I was still looking for centerpieces- she was selling off a bunch of stuff from her wedding that wasn't ever used. She had 10 brandy snifters, some packs of natural polished river rocks & 5 various shaped mirrors. She was asking a dollar for each so I jumped at the opportunity!

I met up with her tonight while I was picking up dinner for Chris. I got it all for $15!!!!! I'm so happy! She gave me the river rocks for free because I was buying everything from her. Now I've got half of my centerpieces partially sorted. Just gotta figure *exactly* what to do with them. lol. I'm thinking a few of them with river rocks & a candle, a few with floating candles, and then I'll do something different for the other half of the centerpieces.

I know you posted this a little while ago but I just now saw it and I am planning on using some similar ideas for my centerpieces. I have some pics on my page of some centerpiece ideas and there's one in particular that has just a single candle with a stargazer lily (but you could use whatever flower you like) and then it's surrounded by the river rocks on top of some type of black thing but I was planning on using mirrors instead. Looks like you already have most of the materials to make something almost just like this, if you want to go look at my page for ideas. I'm also planning on doing the same thing by having about half of them be like the ones I just described and the other half might be some type of round bowl with floating flowers or candles and some rocks or seashells in my case at the bottom so that not all the centerpieces are the exact same!!
