... and started researching wedding planners. I've been super adamant that I wouldn't have a planner- I was intent on doing it all myself but now that we've been planning for a year, and I've planned 5 different weddings at this point, I've decided that this is the last time. I have almost zero support (other than blogs and such, but almost nothing in real life) and the reason things have changed so much so many times is because of that lack of support.

What's really spurred on my decision to look for one is the fact that I can't get my Dad to do *anything* I've asked of him. He volunteered to pay for half the wedding and now that we really need to get the ball rolling and get venue deposits etc. down, he's being very awkward and stubborn about things. He's a typical male- he doesn't understand why everything can't be done only 3 months beforehand. I've tried talking to him, I've shaved the budget down to the bare minimum that I can to try and please him, I've whined, I've begged, I've screamed... nothing. It's like he doesn't care, even though I know he wants this all over and done with so that I'm no longer on his hands. If I have a wedding planner, they can kick his ass into gear. Having someone *other* than me telling him that we need to be on schedule might be enough to get him to do what I'm asking... even if it's an extra cost that we can't really afford. But ya know- he's the one paying for it!
