Ask a Question
Ideas for Headtable Decorations??

So, I've spent the past 2 days going around TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target, Homegoods, Tuesday Morning, Michaels, AC Moore & Ross looking for *something* that jumps out at me for our head table decorations and I honestly have no idea what I want. I'd completely forgotten I needed anything! lol.

What makes our table unique is that we won't be sitting outwards like you do traditionally- we'll all be sitting AROUND the table. So it just pretty much needs to be a different, but noticeably different centerpiece on it that still coordinates with everything else. And I can't think of anything. I liked the idea of using candles, but our venue doesn't permit any open flames (not even for a unity candle) so that's out of the running since I don't think the huge pillar candles look right when they're battery operated.

Can anyone come up with some suggestions (prefably cost effective too!) for what to use? Everything I keep finding is way too short and would get in the way, or not short enough- its all that random height that when it's on a table and you're sitting looking at each other it would be right in the middle of your site and you couldn't see the person on the other side. lol.

I posted photos of the centerpieces for the guest tables, the centerpieces for the cocktail tables, the bathroom arrangements and the table runners (Which are going over ivory linens.) so that you can see what sorts of things we're working with at the moment. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

edit: I should clarify- I need something tall. Very tall. The guest table centerpieces are 20-inches tall each and the bouquets are being used to decorate the cake table. (not to mention, mine wouldn't work as a centerpiece since it's a 20-inch cascading bouquet) I need something that will balance with the guest tables and keep everything even.

if you check out my page, i have some ideas for what we are doing as we are also having the headtable be one we sit around.

you could do short bowls of floating flowers maybe, with varying vases for you and your girls to put your floweres in? I wouldn't think the bouquets would be too high?
