If you've stopped in on my blog from time to time you'll see that I've questioned my dress choice over and over and over again...driving myself ca-razy in the process.
A couple weeks ago I finally got it back from alterations and was heartbroken to be told (yet again) that they couldn't change the neckline to a sweetheart. I took it to 2 other places who agreed that it couldn't be done. When I bought the dress the store told me it wouldn't be a problem and that was a big deciding factor for me.
Anyways, I am running out of time to get a replacement dress so I decided to take my dress and all accessories to my mom's house and do a dress rehearsal (can you tell I work in theatre?). Anywho...here are the results....
I'm happy with the fit, not happy with my jiggly arms ;)
Happy with the lace and embroidery, not happy with the neckline
Happy with my accessories, veil, red shoes and black crinoline (more pictures of all that coming soon!)
I actually took the dress to two other seamstresses who agreed that it couldn't be done. They explained it was because of the side swept rouching/beading and lace overlay. I have one more woman in mind who can apparently work wonders and am going to take it to her in the next month or so.
Your arms photgraph great!! don't see jiggle.
I think the neckline looks great, but I know when you had something different in mind, its hard to get it out of your head. But you look great!!! And I dont see no jiggly arms?!?! You're crazy!!! ;P
netter: I wish your mom lived around here too!!! is she very far away?
if you're interested, i just posted some pics of my black crinoline with my dress and I'm still searching for the pics of the back with the bustle and everything...I think I deleted them by accident :( hope you ladies are having a great monday!
I have a sweetheart neckline and I would actually perfer one like yours. I'm worried about clevage showing, especially cuz I'm short! lol.
I just feel the need to say again that I really love your dress and your accessories. You did a good job matching them up.
t think you NEED a sweetheart, it looks great on you.
And yeah, maybe try to take it somewhere else to change the neckline if it bothers you?
