If you've stopped in on my blog from time to time you'll see that I've questioned my dress choice over and over and over again...driving myself ca-razy in the process.

A couple weeks ago I finally got it back from alterations and was heartbroken to be told (yet again) that they couldn't change the neckline to a sweetheart. I took it to 2 other places who agreed that it couldn't be done. When I bought the dress the store told me it wouldn't be a problem and that was a big deciding factor for me.

Anyways, I am running out of time to get a replacement dress so I decided to take my dress and all accessories to my mom's house and do a dress rehearsal (can you tell I work in theatre?). Anywho...here are the results....

I'm happy with the fit, not happy with my jiggly arms ;)
Happy with the lace and embroidery, not happy with the neckline
Happy with my accessories, veil, red shoes and black crinoline (more pictures of all that coming soon!)

There is not a thing wrong with this beauty. I love it and it's perfect! I understand about the jiggly arms..LOL I lifted weights faithfully for months to tone it up a bit.

I think the dress looks great on you! I'm not sure why they couldn't chnage the neckline, but could you maybe take it somewhere else and see if they can change it for you? It sounds like you like the dress other than that though, and although your arms look fine to me, you definitely still have some time before the wedding day to tone u your arms a bit!

it's beautiful on you! i know you're upset about the sweetheart neckline (i am with my dress too!) but i think the dress is very flattering on you! wonderful. & just do a few sets of push ups each day to tone the arms if you're not liking em!

Is there anywhere nearby you could get a second opinion about the neckline? I can see what you're saying about it (a sweetheart would look great.. but it's gorgeous now too!).

Thanks so much for your lovely comments girls, I feel so much better about it now!

I actually took the dress to two other seamstresses who agreed that it couldn't be done. They explained it was because of the side swept rouching/beading and lace overlay. I have one more woman in mind who can apparently work wonders and am going to take it to her in the next month or so.

My mom is the best seamstress.. I wish she lived here because I know she could and would do it for you!!  I can just imagine how frustrated you are... The dress really is beautiful just the way it is though!!

I am totally loving it! It's looks great without the sweetheart neckline, and I LOVE the back of it. The birdcage veil is perfect for you, and the jewelry just tops it all off! I can't wait to see the red shoes.....

I wonder if you could use a vintage brooch or something similar and make your own sweetheart neckline.  It wouldn't be as good as an alteration but it might give you more of the look you like.  I think it looks lovely as it is though and either way you are going to look gorgeous on your day!

oh darlin- I think that you look very beautiful and elegant! I really like your dress. But like the other brides suggested, I would take it to a 3rd, 4th and 5th place to find someone to do the sweetheart.  If they certainly can't cut it, they can sew it down to create the same effect as long as it doesn't have boning in the top...? Why are they suggesting that it can't be done?

Your arms photgraph great!! don't see jiggle.

Oh my goodness you're gorgeous!!! I totally understand not quite getting your dress to match your vision but you are a vision on that dress! Beautiful! Love it with the veil and the necklace! So nice to see everything come together! :D If you can find someone to do your neckline fabulous, but either way you look incredible! You really do!

I love everything! I would not get a new dress I would regret spending the extra money after it was all over especially when you have such a beautiful dress already.
I have a sweetheart neckline and I would actually perfer one like yours. I'm worried about clevage showing, especially cuz I'm short!  lol.
I just feel the need to say again that I really love your dress and your accessories. You did a good job matching them up.

You know what, your gown is GORGEOUS on you and I don't
t think you NEED a sweetheart, it looks great on you.

And yeah, maybe try to take it somewhere else to change the neckline if it bothers you?
