Oh Sarah honey, I am glad that you were able to salvage these and they do look great now! You will be able to remember this day with glee and these photos will def help! Love the first look pic - aww, and I loove the kiss pic, and the one with all the BMs and their red pashminas - sooo pretty!

awww Sarah!! I am so glad you were able to fix the problems!! the pictures look fantastic. I know it must still be disappointing that they dont match the vision you had, but they truly are great and you all look fantastic!! i love your thank you picture and yout kisskiss picture!

I don't want to downplay the fact that these aren't what you expected or discussed with the photographer and you are right, you shouldn't have to fix them yourself BUT I will say that after all of your stress and disappointment, they look beautiful!! The emotions captured are priceless. I hope that you are able to pair these with your re-shoot and have an album you are proud of, casue these came out great! And a shoutout to your awesome friend!

The pictures look really good. Could you perchance give us an example of the bad versus good once you fixed it? If not, that's cool. Just curious to see how bad they were because these look great!

I'm sorry that the pics didn't turn out as you had discussed, but these pics look really great after all of the editing!

I'd say you guys did WAY MORE than salvage these... they're great! Like you said, still not what you had wanted... but wonderful none the less! And now you have an excuse to get back in your dress. :)

I am glad that you are getting the past the photog's mess up. You did a great job with your pictures. They are beautiful! I love your reveal pics. That's soo sweet! My fave pic is the one where he is blindfolded and you are just coming around the corner. Seems like you were saying "Awwww". Cute!

Awesome job editing them, beautiful I'm sorry about your photographer debacle but seriously these ones are gorgeous :)

thanks for being so lovely ladies! I just posted a couple examples of the work that had to be done. Now, image doing that to 300 images and having to throw out another 150 because they were just useless.

Wow Sarah - the before and after shots are crazy! I am just soooo happy that you were able to restore and capture the beauty and love in the pics. These are so gorgeous where your expressions and emotions are concerned, i am so glad they were salvagable. I do agree with Nidhal about not minimizing the stress, but they really did turn out beautiful hon. You look fabulous, Jeff looks amazing as well, and together  - the love jumps out of the pics!

Thank goodness for photoshop!!! Your pics are amazing, but let me say I know the pain (to a certain extent).  My FH's uncle did our engagement photos and out of the 152 he took, I could only use about 8, and of the 8 I had to do some drastic, I mean drastic photoshopping.  His wife did not tell me my bra was showing, or that my fh's cell phone was in the picture.  Then there are those minor things that only we notice.  He had me list him as the photographer after I retouched them drastically so he could get more business.  

I don't know how much you paid, but I would show the photographer the before and after, and ask for all rights to your photos, because the orange people he captured will not be shown, your hard amazing work will. "Your" photos look amazing, and I am sorry you had to go through this.  

Maybe you can write a post for anything you learned that would maybe help the next bride from having this problem, and how to fix it for those that do.

wow sarah.... so much (photoshop) work went into these!! i feel terrible that you've had this experience, but the shots you do have are absolutely beautiful. the "first look" was captured beautifully.... i love your head tilt when you're coming up behind him - just lovely.
i think you'll have photo albums full of great pictures to show your grandchildren ;)

ps. you could be a model too! Tyra would be proud of your hands! No gangly fingers there! Just perfect!! hehe

You don't know me and I don't know you, so I hope my message is well received.  First off, I am terribly sorry that your wedding "photographer" did such a terrible job capturing your Big Day.  Being a wedding photographer, myself, it sickens me to see people spend as much as it costs on a photographer, just to have the photographer do a mediocre-at-best job.  This brings me to my main point.  I hope your "knowledgeable" friend read the photographer's contract, before editing the photos.  They may be your wedding memories, but it is the photographer who maintains ownership of the copyright to the photos.  This prohibits everybody except for the photographer from editing the photos, in most cases.  This is to prevent some unskilled hack from destroying the photographer's art - irregardless of how terrible of a job the photographer did.  Assuming your friend did not have written permission to edit the photographer's work, this could come back to bite you in the form of legal issues and hefty fines.  As I said in the beginning of the message - I don't know you, but I would hate for you to be in such a situation, because you have a "knowledgeable" friend.  I won't waste any more of your time.  I just wanted to make you aware of this potential issue, so you can proceed with caution and knowledge of how the copyright laws work, in these cases (and the laws are pretty much the same, internationally).  Thanks for your time!
