Before the wedding I posted about how we couldn't hire a videographer, but we did purchase a digital camera and was going to have a friend tape the night for us. Well...that didn't exactly go as planned. Instead of a couple hours of footage we ended up with 20 minutes. Yep. 20 minutes. Luckily a friend of my mom's had her camera and got some more footage for us and friends have been quite generous in sharing their pictures with us. I *just* finished editing this last night and though it's not as pretty as some as the gorgeous films out there it still makes me smile no matter how many times I watch it.

The Highlights (in case you didn't want to watch the whole thing)
start - getting ready
2:15 - the big reveal
3:30 - the ceremony
4:50 - kiss and cocktail hour
6:40 - reception starts
7:40 - dancing


If we could do it all again we would have found the money for a different photographer (obviously because I still hate that man) and a professional videographer. I didn't realize how important it was to me until it was over. Ah well, c'est la vie!

Awe Sarah it's beautiful. I didn't get a chance to watch it in it's entirety but I think that you did an amazing job and my favourite part was your sincere happiness when you saw each other for the first time. Literally brought tears to my eyes.

Sarah!!! I am over hear crying!! OMG...I loved it!! I currently don't have a videographer...but you just made me change my mind.  It's two weeks til my wedding...I'm fina make it happen!! I'm still crying...that was wonderful.  When he turned around and saw you...i just started balling!...I need to get it together in here at work befor people think somethings wrong!..LOL

and yes! if there is any way you can find a videographer do it!!! i honestly did not think it mattered to me at all and now, looking back, the night was such a blur and i can't remember as much as i thought i would be able to. i would give anything to hear my dad's speech again or to see the look on my guests faces during our ceremony.

i wish i had a better record of the whole day/night. i might not matter too much in 10 years, but it matters a lot right now.

Sarah I love it!  I think you did an amazing job and I love that you incorporated photos and video.  The quotes at the end left me with goosebumps.  I know that you didn't get the pictures you wanted or the video, but you made something truly amazing out of what you were given.

this is what we're going to do! have a few friends that we know have great video cameras and make our own video. i think buying a decent video camera for ourselves would be a great idea! i really like the video with the stills. really cute, sarah!

You did an amazing job editing, I know you are bummed about not hiring someone but believe me this was as good as some the pro shorts films we saw when we were shopping.

yep, bawling my eyes out! Your video is GREAT!! I felt all the emotions! And I love the pics mixed with the live video!! Seriously love it!! Congrats again!!

OMG Sarah you had me sobbing! I love it! It is so intimate and beautiful, you did a wonderful job. I know you would rather have had pro. but this has a homeade and personal quality that may not have been captured otherwise.

My fave part is like all the other girls - the first look, but I love the getting ready shots, the photo wall shots, the music, all of it. I cried again when the text came up about finding your perfect match, the shadow of yourself in another.. Beautiful. All of it. Absolutely beautiful! :)

I didn't hire a videographer either. Pictures were much more important to me but my uncle took video of the main stuff for me anyways and I was glad he did!
