Just wondering if anyone out there has dyed their crinoline red or known someone who has dyed it red? I've seen lots of pink and purple success stories, but no red. I've heard that it is a tricky colour and I don't wanna mess it up.
Also, any tips for dying crinoline in general? I'm a little scared.
Thanks!
I just dyed mine (pink) so I can give you any advice you want! Do you plan to dye it in the washing machine?
Have you already purchased the crinoline skirt?
If you haven't, you can buy netting from Fabricland that is already coloured.
(it's about $2-$13 a meter, depending on the quality) - typically you need 20meters for a medium/full skirt
I've chosen to have mine sewn right into the dress, so I don't have to wear a crinoline at all.
I've seen the at home dye jobs turn out very well too!
Good Luck!

I've also heard suggestions of buying one of the shorter ones (which are supposedly very soft and nice quality) and sewing it inside the bottom of your dress. I think that would look the best, but I'm terrible at sewing!

My mom she used to put a BIG BIG pot or plastic container and kind of boil the material hahaha...
I dont know. I'm planning on doing mine with purple If I can find one here in toronto, lol.
GL and pass the tips along.<3
i haven't bought the crinoline yet, so i might use vintageglamourbride's idea of picking up netting and just sewing it onto the bottom.
and thanks so much heddershell for the websites! i just emailed the last one you posted to see how much it would be to ship it to canada.
i loved seeing the pictures of all the different dyed colours...it just makes me wanna do it more!

You can replace it in the colour you want for less than $50.
Just in case. Good luck dying it!
I am going with one from the website, as my dress didn't come with a crinoline to dye.
But ALWAYS make sure to stop the cycle and un twist the slip every now any then so that it won't tie dye!!
