Wedding Invitation
...I work with the most awesome people!
So I just took my invitation back to the press department of my company. I gave Gina in the creative department a very simple layout design and she design really wonderful invitations. It is a three-fold invitation with a damask background and border. I'm very excited to see the final wording and all ready to go. The reply is attached but perft for easy removal so the guests can send them back. Plus, as long as you follow USPS regulations, the reply postage is alot more affordable.
The best part of the whole thing is that the press department designed is going to print all 200 invitations for free!!! I love my company! |

Wedding Dress
my third dress
I have a confession, I have bought three wedding dresses. I know that sounds totally diva, but I will explain.
My FSIL called me one day last summer (before I even had my ring) to tell me that the bridal dress shop was having there annual dress sale which is basically any dress that is discontinued or a floor sample sales for $25 dollars (this is Kittanning PA for all those who will ask where can you buy a dress for $25). So I bought the first two there - they were both beautiful. The first three pics are of the one I figured I would wear. I had the mind set that you don't need to spend that much and as long as you like the dress that is good enough. Then I started shopping for bridesmaids dresses and quickly realized that I was settling. The dress I bought was very pretty. Traditional, lots of buttons, plus it made my dad tear up (not easy). But it wasn't me, and I found alot of dresses in the books that were me. So I tried on another dress-this time a bridesmaid's dress and I loved it but I couldn't order it in white... ...and then I found my dress. It is much more simple, much more me. All of the bridesmaids that are my friends looked at it and knew I was going to buy it. I will post pictures of it as soon as it comes in in white (its hard to picture) and the back which is the best part. So I have bought three dresses, but I've only spent $220.00 and I'm happy :) BTW, I sent my second dress to my brother's fiance and she loved it! She is having the sleeves altered and wearing it on her big day! And I'm thinking I might either sell the first dress or donate it. I love it when things work out! |

Wedding Decoration
...a little about my plans
I am very organized + I love projects + I'm super excited about getting married = I have a lot of plans!
My ceremony is going to be by candle-light, its in the afternoon but the space is an old movie theater so no windows. I had to take advantage of that! We have 300 tealights, 18 jar candles, and 48 votive candles...so far! Its going to be so gorgeous! I am making simple programs in black and white. My TOJ tissues are damasked wrapped tissues with the standard poem-Tears of Joy, Tears of Laughter, Tears of Happily Ever After. I'm only making them for my aunts b/c it would be too much work to make them for everyong. So my ushers will have a list and hand them out as my aunts come in. My pew decorations (pew bows is a funny word) are white bows with halved stryofoam balls painted black glued in the center. And then 15 tiny white flowers cut from paper tacked into each ball. The reception is at an amazing space in Butler called the Brick House. It is a restaurant/bar on main street. They serve amazing food too. We will have a long narrow space with a high ceilings and a long old wooden bar in the center. There is a large dance floor and a lounge area plus a game room adjecent with pool tables and air hockey. I'm def playing some air hockey in my dress-too funny! Each table will have a centerpiece of one large candle, with damask ribbon wrap, surrounded by tea lights. The memorial we are setting up for our loved ones will be framed pictures of each and a lovely poem in the center. We are serving London Grille and Cajun Chicken Alfredo buffet style with a seated salad service. |
