Help? My Gift to Him!
I want to get FH a nice watch for his wedding gift. If he were any other man, I would find a nice titanium bracelet band watch, and be good to go. But, he isn't. He is practical, and rugged, and a Marine... So, I am having a bit of a tough time. I need advice!

I like two different watches by Citizen, they are both dark faced, and have a rubber band, and are water resistant to 300 meters. Also, they are Citizen Eco Drive, so no need for a battery ever. The only problem? The only things he has ever specifically said about what he would like in a watch:
Dark Face
Wide Band
Water Resistant
Big Numbers - Here is the prob! none of the Citizen watchs have numbers at all, let alone big ones!

Also attached here, I have a watch by Invicta, I have never heard of them before. It is also dark faced, with a wide band, and has... a few numbers? Does any one know anything about this brand?

There is one more, which I do not have a picture of, it is a Swiss Army watch, the Summit XLT, Dark Face, Wide Band, Big Numbers, but only water resistant to 100 meters.

Any opinions would be super duper helpful! I just don't really know what to do.

16 more days!!!
So, I am a little over two weeks from go time! I am mostly very very excited! I am still not at all nervous, anxious, or worried. I am seriously hoping it stays that way!

I have had two bridal showers, they were awesome!!! The amazing love I felt was enough to get me through for a good long time! People are so happy for us, and so generous, it was almost embarrassing!

I have only given myself a few little DIY projects, one that I am super excited about, are my I Spys! I love the notion of everyone running around during the wedding with their cameras trying to get all of the pictures on the list! I think it will provide a lot of pictures for us to see after the wedding, to tide us over until the pro pictures are ready!!!

One little bit of drama: my dress. It has been with my seamstress for months. I have had five fittings, and it still does not completely fit. The way the dress comes, there was A LOT of extra up top. So, she has been taking it in, and in, and in... Once the bust was small enough, it was fitting funny, and I was flashing everyone every time I moved. No good. So, last Saturday, that part was finally figured out! Unfortunately, as she has been taking in the bust, she also took in the sides a bit. Enough so that I had to hold my breath once I was zipped in! The seamstress asked me if it was too tight, and told me to take a deep breath. So, I did, and RIPPED MY DRESS! it is not a big deal, I just popped the eye part of the hook and eye at the top of the zipper, but, seriously not good for the pre-wedding self esteem, y'know? anyhow, by this Saturday, even that is supposed to be fixed!

The last touches I need to figure out for myself, are the silk flower I want for my hair (I have a picture in my mind, but can't find it anywhere!) and my jewelry. Then, it will all be smooth sailing!

The next (and I believe last) project I need to get on and get done, my seating chart. So not looking forward to that! wish me luck?!

Bridal Shower!
Great advice!
Saturday, I had my bridal shower! It was my second one! (I have two sets of family and friends, a few hours apart.) One of the games we played, involved each person giving me marriage advice, in the form of a question and answer! I thought some of these were great, so i thought I would share them all.

Q: What should both of you remember to do for each other, especially in public?
A: Cover for each other

Q: What is the best response a husband can give his wife?
A: "Yes, Dear."

Q: Should you go to bed angry with each other?
A:Yes, so that you can "make up" in the morning!!!

Q: What is the best way to ensure lifelong happiness?
A: 1. Matt adopts the phrase, "You're right, I'm wrong." 2. "I'm sorry" and use it often

Q: Who should sleep with Maddie?
A: The wife should!

Q: What kind of vacation should you take annually?
A: A nice LONG one!

Q: Who should initiate sex on the wedding night?
A: The wife should.

Q: How many times should "I love you" be said every day?
A: As many as possible

Q: Who should do the dishes?
A: You should alternate

Q:What should you tell each other every night before you go to bed?
A: I love you.

Q: Who should get the oil changed in the car?
A: Matthew should.

Q: Who should make sure phone messages are written down?
A: Amy, because she probably has legible handwriting.

Q: Who should make breakfast?
A: Matt, because he like waffles

By the way, the one question that actually says the word "sex" in it? Came from FH's GRANDMA!!! I die!!!

Is anyone else too relaxed?
I am getting married one month from today. i should be a wreck. I should have a to do list ten miles long. I don't. Sure, there are a few things here and there that I need to take care of, but, for the most part, it will be smooth sailing.

I should be worried that two of my bridesmaid won't be receiving their dresses until the day before my wedding, because they put off ordering them until the very last moment. I am not. At all. It was classic for these ladies! they do everything at the last moment, and I really do love them for it!

I should be worried that of the bridesmaids who have received their dresses, some of them do not fit right. While the dress fit perfectly in the store, now that it has been received, it has to be let out two inches to make room for her bust. (ALL of my bridesmaids are busty ladies! Which is made hilarious by the fact that I, am NOT AT ALL! Lol!) I am not worried about that either. I am certain it will be fine.

I should be worried that my mom found the dress that she thought would make the most beautiful mother of the bride dress ever, and purchased it on the spot, too small. Two dress fittings later, there are panels on the sides to let it out, but the seamstress couldn't find matching material, so they are "close". This, doesn't worry me either. Nor does the fact that she found the craziest shoes in the whole world to pair with her dress. It is just so classically my Mommy, that I love it!!

I should be worried that after four fittings, my dress still doesn't fit me in the bust. (like I said, I am uh, NOT well endowed...) That everytime I move my arm, I show the whole world exactly what God gae me to work with. Lol! But, I know my incrediblle seamstress will get it there eventually, and the dress feels lovely (if incredibly warm) every time I put it on!

Bottom line, I know my boy will be there looking dapper, I know my friends and family will be there to see our union, and I know that they will all be fed well. Really, how much better can it get?!

Wedding Gift Registry
I am a peeker!!!
Hey ladies! Are any of you serious peekers too? I normally LOVE surprises. I never try to figure out what presents I am getting for birthdays, xmas, etc. However, having registries makes me a big ol snoop! Lol! I look almost daily to see if anyone has purchased anything off our registries! I have one bridal shower this weekend, and one next weekend! I am so excited!!! Are any of you snoopers too? Do you look at your registries?!

Dresses
I should have posted about this ages ago! most of them have their dresses now. This picture is some of the girls in the dress they picked. the color is Pewter though, which they don't carry in the store, so you have to imagine it instead! Lol! My bridesmaids will all wear this dress, as well as the two "groomsladies" that FH has standing with him on his side! His ladies will have corsages instead of bouquets, but other than that, they will be the same outfit.

Wedding Favors
Ordered, canceled, re-ordered!
I found music note bookmark favors. They weren't perfect. They had a blue tassel, and came in a blue box. There is no blue in my wedding, but they were so perfect otherwise, that I went ahead and ordered them. They were back ordered, and the order wouldn't even be processed until 6/15, which freaked me out a little bit! But, it was what I could find, so I was trying to stay cool.

Ten minutes AFTER I ordered the stupid things, I found these beauties!!!!!! They are the right colors, they are all treble clefs (which is totally my preference!), and they were available right away! They were just a little bit outside my budget as they cost about $.80 per favor more than the ones I had originally ordered, but my mom offered to pay the difference! I am so lucky! So, I canceled the first order, and ordered these perfect favors instead! yay!

Wedding Party Make-Up and Hair
pain in the patootie.
Okay. So. I had never really thought about the make up and hair for the girls in the wedding party.

For me, my friend Jill (who is a hair stylist by trade) is doing my hair. She is charging me $75 for doing a trial run, and the day of bridal hair. I thought that was reasonable, because it is bridal hair! My friend Jimmy (who used to be a make up artist by trade) offered to do my make up the day he found out I was engaged. I had assumed it was a gift, but even if it isn't, no big deal. I am supposed to do things that are a bit expensive that day, it's my wedding day!

My girls let me know that they were interested in having their hair and make up professionally done. I am not "requiring" it, and if they choose to not do it, that is totally fine with me. I decided to go to Jill to find out if she knew anyone who could do their hair. She has a friend who can come do it... for $45 dollars per person! That seemed really expensive to me. The girls who are interested in getting their hair done told me that it is pretty standard, plus this lady is coming to us, so apparently it isn't that bad. Then I asked Jimmy if he was willing to do everyones make up. He said "of course!" I asked him today how much the girls need to be prepared to pay. 60 dollars per face!!!! I cannot believe it. That seems absolutely crazy to me. You can get a make over at a make up counter in the mall for free if you buy one of their products. Thats like 20 bucks AND you have something to show for it afterward! This way, you pay 60 dollars, wash your face and BAM 60 bucks literally down the drain.

I am bummed. I had this idea in my head of all the girls hanging out in my suite with me getting ready and getting our hair and make up done and sipping on mimosas. Now, a bunch of girls will be going elsewhere to get their make up done, or will have to do it themselves, after I got them all excited about the prospect of being pampered. It isn't the end of the world or anything, but it is a bummer.

2 Months (Minus 1 Day)
Almost there! Everyday closer to the wedding, is a day I am more excited about the honeymoon! Oh, to have an entire week to be stress free! I am not sure I remember what stress free feels like!!!!!

-Ordering favors and candy today
-Already have all of my decorations
-All of my vendors are ready and waiting
-Photographer wants to take a trip with my out to the wedding site to get a feel for the place
-Hair trial run in the beginning of June
-Major dress alterations are done, and I am going to see my seamstress this Sunday to make sure that it doesn't need to be hemmed.
-I Spy cards are planned out, just need to print those puppies!
-Still need to complete table numbers
-Still need to get to planning on the rehearsal dinner (a wee bit behind on this one!!!)
-Two bridal showers planned for June, invites for one have already gone out, the other one will hopefully be out soon.
-Bachelorette party planned for one week before the wedding (On the same day I plan and run a livestock auction, going to be a tiring day!!)
-Just found out that I cannot have amplification in the park where the ceremony is. Have to figure out with my DJ how to get around that... not excited for that conversation
+ 700 different kinds of drama with my Bridesmaids. Ah,t he life of a soon-to-be bride! Lol!

I have a question! Have any of you lovely ladies gotten an airbrush tan? I am a Russian Jew. Translation = I am completely incapable of tanning. I am dying for a nice summer glow in my pretty dress, so I have been researching airbrush tanning. I am going to do a trial run in a week or so to see how it will work out on my pasty self! Have any of you had good/bad experiences with airbrush tans? Please, fill me in!!!

Wedding Shoes!
Pink!
I have never purchased a pair of shoes online before, and the idea of doing so frankly has me all freaked out. I found this site, and it has some lovely shoes (in addition to some really strange stuff...) but I am scared! Have any of you ever used this site, or any site to buy shoes online? Did they come out as great as you had hoped? Any help would be super appreciated! Thank you!
