Change of date...
No more summer wedding...October is the new month! Not only does it give me even more time to plan and get everthing rolling...but it's also the same month as my birthday and favorite holiday!
Nooooo...it won't be halloween themed...we're still having a good ol rockabilly shindig!

Ask a Question
Phoenix AZ locations...
I know undoubtedly that the hardest part of the whole planning process will be attempting to plan a wedding 800 miles away from where we live.
My FH and I have recently moved to Nevada from our homestate of Arizona. Our families are both located in AZ as well, so we've decided to have the wedding in the Phoenix area.
I've been looking at hotels as well as manors around the Phoenix metro area and keep hitting disappointment after disappointment. They're all beautful places...just not my speed.
I'm leery of having an outdoor wedding in Arizona (seeing as I'm leaning more toward a summer wedding and Arizona is infamous for its scorching summers) but feel like that will be my best bet for scoring a location that I can transform to reflect our personal style. I may have to change the date and go for either a spring or fall wedding (if there's such a thing in Phoenix! haha).

Any brides around the Phoenix area that have any suggestions??
I prefer somewhere not extremely expensive and/or formal (hell, I'm really digging the idea of a taco bar at the reception!!) and am not very familiar with the area (I grew up southeast of Phoenix).

Wedding Dress
Perhaps...
If there is one thing I am intent on for my wedding, it is not being "traditional".
I don't want the long, elegant dress with the flowing train and long veil, the wedding will be "bible-less", and I have no desire to heed the normal advice regarding what is acceptable for a wedding.

Thank you retrobride for suggesting offbeatbride! How refreshing to know that there are so many others venturing off of the "beaten aisle" =].

I've found a dress I adore. I have some ideas for alterations so I may just gather ideas from this dress and enlist my grandmother to be my seamstress (having a one of a kind dress can't be beat, right??). I'd like to add a sash (maybe black), as well as a red crinoline slip underneath.

I like that the dress is tea length as opposed to floor length. I also love the vintage feel to it and the halter neck is amazing (click on the picture of the back of the dress to see the behind the neck bow)!

Ask a Question
Including My Daughter...
I am, first and foremost, a mother. I have a wonderful soon to be 5 year old and I know that I definitely want her to be a huge part of my wedding. Instead of having her as a flower girl or junior BM I've been contemplating having her walk down the aisle with me (perhaps in front of me?). I know, I know, I'm getting married, not my little gal...buuut it is very very important to have her be right there with me. =]

Any thoughts?

By the way, I appreciate the input regarding the BM dresses and slips!

purplenat1 - I'm considering fans as opposed to flowers, and was thinking of having them as the alternating color (i.e. if the slip is black, the fan is white and vice versa). Good idea...or not?

Your suggestions are very, very welcome; please help with any input!!

Getting an early start! (Is there such a thing?)
While we don't have a definite date set for the wedding, I'm pretty set on the dresses I want my dolls to wear. =] My little sister will be my MOH and if I decide that I want the other gal(s) to look different than her I'll choose a different dress for her (them)...I'm undecided on how many I'd like in the wedding party.
I'm thinking I might even have the gals wear this dress and just have them wear varying colors of crinoline slip (ex. MOH wears white slip BM wears black slip ?) in order to distinguish between them.
