Ask a Question
Store, sell or donate
Hi ladies,

HELP! Well I recently was asked what I was going to do with my wedding dresses after the wedding.
I found a company that takes donations of Bridal Gowns that they then sell at a nominal fee to people who cannot afford a dress. Now I am confused……I checked into the cost of cleaning and storage as I thought that is what I would do.

What are you going to do?

Keeping for celebration party in July, then just hanging on to it, not ready to let it go!

Heard of "destroying the dress?"

Well since my fiance's mom lives in Germany, I might be able to wear it again if she is unable to come to Michigan. I would like to have a reception over in Germany with his family if it is possible. Otherwise, I am going to sell it. I am sure its unique enough for people to be interested to wear it.

Yeah I saw pics of trashing the dress, its cool, but not when I pay over 500 dollars for a dress. I would probably go to the goodwill and buy and old dress and jump in Lake Michigan in it for pictures, I think it would be hilarious!

I am going to keep mine in hopes that one day my children or my grandchildren can wear it. I was origanally going to wear my grandmothers wedding dress at the reception, but sadly they had a garage fire last spring and it burned in that fire :(

I actually found my dress through a high end consignment shop that specializes in couture designer gowns that have only been worn once or twice. I absolutely adore my Lazaro gown and want to hold on to it for the daughter I hope to have one day, but I love that my dress meant something to the first bride. The shop owner told me that the first bride really felt it was important that who ever she sold the dress to loved it as much as she did. The first bride is very happily married in California and it just sends me good vibes to know it brought her happiness. :)

I want to have mine cleaned and stored. I know I'll probably never wear it again, but the dress will hold too many memories to get rid of it!

I would love to donate mine but I believe I am going to keep it for a while. We have talked about renewing vows later on down the line and I think it would be great to wear it again on that second special day. I also have two step daughters 11 and 8 and they may one day want to wear it...never know.

I picked up a really cool headlis manican from a vintage shop.I plan on having it set up in the corner of our Masterbed room in out new house. That way i can look at it everyday. I dont want to just shove it in a closet and forget about it. I want it out for display...

I'm "trashing" my dress. (not really. I'm just having some pics taken in a field) After my "trashing" session I'm cleaning it and storing it away.
