Pre-marital Counseling
What have been your experiences?
Erik and I set up our two sessions of pre-marital counseling through our church. We took the pre-survey today and it was interesting....
I feel like we have a very solid relationship but I'm just nervous of what it's all about. Has anyone been through it? What's it like?

honestly, my fiance and I just finished our pre-caina or pre marital counceling and it was not taught by a priest and the speaker we had talked about sex the entire night. We went with a group of 50 other couples so no one is singled out or lectured.

It was very easy but in my opinion a complete waste of time. I learned nothing.  I was hoping to discuss more of issues in my relationship and ideas on how to work through difficulties, but no, nothing helpful.

My fiance & I have been attending premarital counseling, which is required by my church.  Although we werent really gung ho initially, it has been very informative, & we feel that it is great gain in our sessions.  We're not finished yet.  I guess it depends on the church/pastors of how your experience is (for the most part).

Our church requires that all couples take pre marital counseling.  Ours was a 8-week session using a fabulous workbook called Before You Say I Do.  We were with six other couples.  While I felt like we had a solid relationship going in the class opened deepened that relationship becaused it promoted communication on an entirely different level.

I took pre-marital classes and it was wonderful.  We love so much our teachers that they became our friends and now they are our god mother and father, because it was in the catholic church and we needed to make the confirmation, and there was they became our god mother and father.  It was a really nice experience, we strength our relationship and gain new family too. And they are helping me with the wedding stuff too.

Our pastor made us do classes or basically pre marital counseling and it was great...Honestly I was suprised at how much my fiance' actually knew about me...I mean when I thought that he wasnt listening during that football game he actually was...I am all about pre-marital counseling.....

I went to a marriage counselor before getting married and after evaluating both me and my husband he told us the possible problems we could have in the future. Nothing big so this game the courage to go ahead with the wedding.
