Our theme is going to be the 1943 Zoot Suit Riots because we are having our reception in Downtown Los Angeles and both my Fiance and I are history buffs.
I'm looking for a red reception dress similar to this one..any idea where i can find it?

Ours is "Modern spring" theme. We are keeping the colors spring-ish.. Also we incorporating brighter colors instead of the common pastel colors for spring.
My theme is Marie Antoinette/Vintage. I was really inspired by watching Sophia Coppola's movie Marie Antoinette. The colors were fantastic; Gold, Blue, Pink, very soft colors. It had this historic feel but with 80's music such as Bow wow wow, Adam Ant, Souixie and the Banshee's. I'm using the soundtrack for my cocktail hour music. I'm using the same color scheme from the movie. My dress has a very vintage feel. I would like to get some macarons as my favors.
I am not using a theme-
My theme is butterflies and feathers - colors are purple, silver & white! It was soooo hard not to change my mind half way through because of everyone elses great ideas but I stuck to my guns and now Im happy I did.
My theme is A Tropical Elegance ...Not in the means of a beach or palm trees but in the means of All my vibrant colors and the formal structure of the wedding.
Themes aren't necessary. All you really need is a color scheme and you're good to go. But we're having a Hawaiian theme. It just makes since for us to have that be the look for our wedding.
We're doing a bright, aqua blue, and black & white damask. Elegant, but relaxed and very fun!
We're doing a Perfect Pear (pair) theme. The main colours are black and white (lots of damask bits) with pear green accents and pears for decoration. I don't think you need a theme, as long as you have colours that carry through. A theme is a fun little side interest too though!
its not important to have a theme for your wedding, but it sure makes the planning easier on you...but it can make it difficult cause you cant decide on what you want, cause theres too many choices and ideas sometimes.

Don't worry we have no theme either. I think it's a cool idea, like i've seen Cinderella themes, and 1920's which are neat. But it just didn't fit for us. We chose colours lime green, raspberry and black.
with my previous plans we had a 1920's/1930's hollywood & art deco theme but now that those plans got scrapped, we're not really doing much of a theme. At least, not intentionally. I'm incorporating birds as our cake topper, & feathers into my fascinator & bouquet but I don't think it's going much further than that.
My theme was inspired my this modern pic of wedding in green white and black............. then I ran across a floral damask pattern and then combined together to make a vintage & damask...black and white with splash of green.
We're contemplating a "The Notebook" carnival theme. In my vision of this, I'm thinking table numbers would be marked by pictures of my FH and I doing 40s carnival rides/date ideas - Merry Go Round, Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars, Rollerskating... things like that. And we want a photo booth in our wedding, so that would tie in as well, and serve as our wedding favors.
We're writing our own vows, and will be reading them from a leather bound notebook like shown in the movie, and I'm sure we'll each be referencing things from there in our vows to one another.
Cocktail hour music would be jazz and standards from that time period. That's the start to it in my head...we'll see if we decide to run with it!

Ladies we are having a fashion show theme. We are both from creative and fashion oriented backgrounds. Fashion , Food Love and fun. I just started planning. I just finished the runway catwalking details.
Our theme is something easy but goes a long way.. We are using a Double Heart theme. We have 2 connecting hearts on everything from our cake topper to our invitations to our table settings! You could do something simple like that..
