Finally set a date!
Jan 28th 2011 here I come!
After years of planning and changing our minds we have finally come across wonderful way to get married. Courtney came up to me the other day and was telling me how his sister and brother in law wanted to plan another snowboarding trip. I was hesitant because we're trying to save for a wedding, and then I thought why don't we do both at the same time! The plan is pretty close to the one I originally had. We are going to elope and get married at the Chateau Lake Louise Ice castle. Then dinner in their fine restaurant and a sleigh ride. The next day we will leave for Revelstoke and go snowboarding for a few days. Im really excited and nervous. Its only 11 weeks away!!! The location will be breath taking and all the focus will be on us and what marriage is really about, which makes me really happy. Heres the cost I have so far
350 for marriage commissioner 120 for the four of us to have a carriage ride 250 for dinner for us all 250-300 for a room so all in all for the wedding itself about 1000. ssaweet! |

Another Ceremony Option
Secret Cove Wedding
Oh Lordy Lordy, I found a contender. I stumbled across this place and it is beautiful. Wonderful view, tucked away on the coastline. And you get to stay in these luxurious tent houses that are on stilts on the hillside, just about over the water. They also offer Elopement Packages at a great price, everything for about $1800. It includes:
2 nights stay(we would stay for longer at about $250ish a night extra) officiant and fees candle light 4 course dinner 2 witnesses 1 hour photography session bouquet and boutonniere rose peddle turndown service 60 min couples massage I cant believe it! All the testimonials say they had an amazing time. I just might have to check it out. Plus airfare there is about 130 each, each way. Not to shabby if I say so =) |

Ceremony
Finally got all the details
Wow, its been a while. We have been so busy lately. We bought our first home!!! Im so excited. We get possession on Oct 1. I cant wait to start making it my own.
I finally got ahold of the planners at the Chateau Lake Louise and this is what Ive got so far. We are having our ceremony on the Lake Front Terrace (holds up to 45 people), the price includes an indoor alternative, which is good because the weather here in May is anywhere from snowing/ windy/ raining or warm and sunny.lol. We also get to have a Champagne toast on the terrace too. Off to the dinning room for a romantic candle lit dinner for 2 Carriage Ride around the Lake. Drink and dancing if we want at a near by club. We are also inviting close friends and family to come see the ceremony if they want to, and join us for drinks later. Simple and easy. No stress, just the way I want it. And full of meaning. To get married at the place where we had our first anniversary will mean so much to me! And it wont cost an arm and a leg! YAY! |

Wedding Dress
A designer close to Pnina
I stumbled upon this designer the other day and I got excited! He makes dresses like Pnina Tornai with the see through corsets!!! And theres a place here in Edmonton that sells them. They are not quite as wonderful, but if one had an idea Im sure they could alter something in his collection that could be perfect!

Ceremony
Sneak away to Fairmont Lake Louise?
We had our first anniversary here 5 years ago and its one of my best memories. So Im thinking why not just elope here and have my reception in Edmonton like I was going to anyways? Next May our anniversary falls on the Saturday which will be the exact day it all started too. I think it would end up being cheaper, and this way I can decorate my reception the way I want it so I wouldn't have to worry about other people trying to get it right and again saving on labour and event planners. I think it would be less stressful to and then I could really enjoy everything.
Also it is really important to me to have a special and memorable ceremony... since it is the most important part of a wedding and Im just not finding anything in Edmonton thats measuring up to what I had it mind, that wouldn't cost a fortune and choices are even more limited in the winter. So I think this is what Im going to do. The best of both worlds...yay. I cant wait till they email me back with some information! |

Wedding Decoration
Canopy for privacy
I was watching Just My Luck on tv yesturday and it was at the part where Linsey Lohan is explaining to her boss what the masquerade bash will be like and she mentioned canopies drapped around tables for privacy. I love this idea but I cant find very many pictures of things like it. I think it would go well with the cocktail reception, doing it for the some of the sit down tables or special seating for us and they are cheap too. Is anyone else doing something simular or have seen pictures? I could really use some visuals.

Inspiration Board
Greytastic
I really like the table in the first picture, and I love the hanging lights in the second. Does anyone know where you can get those?
Ive found a few inspiration boards and photos of lighter greys, ivory and purple/plum, but Im having a hard time finding a darker version of my vision. Has anyone see any pics? |
