Ask a Question
Fun:Do you have your baby names yet??

So babies have become a hot subject in our house the last year or so, and it used to be me who was the broody one but now my FH has definitely caught up!!! He cant wait to have children and to be honest neither can i.

We have little nieces and nephews and cousins on both sides so always surrounded by children so we cant wait to have children, we are thinking about trying pretty soon after the wedding.

At the moment alot of friends of ours have been having babies etc and it gets you thinking- especially on the name debate!

Do you and your Fhs have your names ready yet or am I the only one??? LOL

So i thought, for fun, if you have already, tell us the names of your future children or children that you have already been lucky to have.

Ours so far- we have the boy name sorted but girls is more tricky LOL

Being from two different countries we have compromised on an International first name (something that would work in both) then a turkish middle name then the turkish surname (Yanatma)

For Boys
Our favourite name is Noah Taylan (pronounced Thai-lan) We also like Isaac, Taner,Enver and Evren, and some others but we are firm on Noah

For Girls
Our favourite is Tabitha Rüya (pronounced Ree-a and it means dreams in Turkish)
but we also like Esmeray (esme-rai),Elif, Bella, Isla, Ruby,Sydney and Liv and i love Dylan for a girl but Recep hates it !

Plenty to choose from!!

So what about you ladies?
Do you already have children and want to share their names or are you like me and just have them ready and waiting??

For boys - I really lke Brody and Cohen (pronounced Coe-win)

For girls -Addison (he doesn't like but I LOVE), Emma, Isabel, and Madelyn.

We are also planning on using my last name (it's pretty unique so theres not many of us) for a middle name somewhere b/c it's just me and my lil sis so I names will be lost if we don't throw it in someone...

We've talked about it but not recently and alot of things have changed in that time! So far we have Eugene picked out for a boys middle name (its a family thing..), Jacklyn (his moms name), Morgan (my great grandmas name) and Jade-I've just always loved that name. FH keeps trying to talk me into Hunter Eugene but yuck I hate it, my friend had a dog named hunter and I dont want to think of that dog when I think of my kid or future kid.

lol yeah i see your point-such a shame when a pet or a bratty kid has the name you like because everytime you think about the name you think about that person / pet. I used to like morgan for a name and then i met the most obnoxious girl i have ever met with that name and now i cant stand it for myself LOL

Girl: Koryn Hayleigh
Boy: Gabriel Michael

He actually LOVES Koryn, and his parents know it. They honestly weren't sure that he would ever get married and have kids, so they were offering to name their newest doggie Koryn. I said NO.

His family traditionally is filled with boys. I'm hoping to break that streak when it happens and give them a girl!

Here are some ideas that I and we have thought of:

Boys: Brice (a family name, but my FH doesn't like it), Ty, Jared, Jarrett, Jake, Ryland

Well I have always liked the name Gabrielle Elizabeth.  it so happens that my FH's mom's name is Elizabeth so it would be a nice way of honoring her.  For a boy we like Andrew James.  These are both names I liked before I met my FH and he also likes them so it works.  When we were thinking about if we had two boys what the second name would be we both said Alexander at the same time.  So I'm thinking Alexander Francis (Francis was my paternal gpa's middle name) or Alexander Joseph (my father's middle name is Joseph).  For a second girl's name we like Corinne.  I would like to use the middle name Anne but I don't like how Corinne Anne sounds so it would have to be Gabrielle Anne and Corinne Elizabeth if we decided on that.

We just discussed this last week! I mean it wasn't the first time, but we just finished our first round of fertility meds so we thought it was important to really think of what names we liked.

Boys- Aiden and Conner

Girl- Ally is our favorite, however her middle name will be Kay after my mothers middle name, and we don't want kids calling her Ally Cat. Soooo....Briann and Ava are the next chooses.

But FH is determined we are having twins or triplets....So I guess if that really happens we can expect to use a few of the names. Ha ha ha.

wow, how the times are changing.  all kinds of spelling, etc.  everyone wants to be unique nowadays.  teachers must be getting increasingly confused as to how to pronounce names..can you imagine like fifty years from now?!?  haha okay a little sidetracked.

to answer your question, NOPE!  that's part of being pregnant, to us.  sometimes its tempting to dream about the future, but im just trying to live in the moment.  anyway, we're both in college, so we've got enough going on to keep us busy.

I picked 2 names out... my husband doesn't really have a say for the first child because if its a girl or a boy I'm using one of the following names. Sounds mean, but We've agreed on it WAY before we even got married! lol

Girl: Sophia Elizabeth
Boy: Seth Thomas

I'm not going for the whole 'name your kids with the same letter of the alphabet' but it worked out that way... if we have 2 boys or 2 girls THEN he'll have a say in their names :-P

We aren't having kids until 6 years after our wedding. But we have our boy's name picked out. Kaleb Dietrich. We love it. My FH is german and his middle name is Dietrich, I think it is so cool. We have had the name Kaleb for like 2 years I think.

We don't have a girl's name though, we can't agree! I thought we had agreed on Victoria Anne, but when I started talking about it recently my FH said he didn't like it anymore, oh well, back to the drawing board. That just means we have to have a boy first- although that's what we want :) What's better than a big brother?

Babies are still at least 4 to 5 years down the road for us...we're certainly in NO rush right now...but I have already picked out some baby names lol!!  We'd like to have a boy and a girl...so I've picked out a name for each, but if ends up being 2 boys or 2 girls then I guess we'd have to think of an extra boy or girl name...but anyways....

For a boy:  Brayden Michael (I LOVE the name Brayden...I first heard it while working in a daycare for several months...which definitely helped confirm my decision to wait several YEARS to start making babies LOL!!!  But still, that's where I first heard the name Brayden and fell in love with it!!  I'm not sure if my FH is on the same page as me or not yet, cause he's a Jr. and I'm not sure if he's planning on naming our son (or our 1st son at least) after himself and his dad which would be William Earl S....., III.  I'm not a huge fan of using the same name over and over again, I think Sr. and Jr. is enough, so I don't think there's any need to keep the name going after that...so I hope he's not really set on naming our son after himself and his father.  Honestly, I just can't picture myself calling our son Bill, or Billy...or Will or Willy....LOL sorry but I just can't picture myself calling our son by any of these names....so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Brayden Michael!!!)

For a girl: Brooklynn Nicole (this one's much less complicated...my FH likes it too!!  The only problem is one of his nieces is named Brooklynn but I had already picked out this name before I even met my fiance and before I ever met any of his family!!)

Might be late but worth a try to save a lot of pain.  The kids at school with these 'special' names will have no end of having to spell out their name because their parents thought it was somehow cool.  It is not, it is simply retarded on a monumental scale!  Some nuggets of pure stupidity already posted: Taylan, Koryn, Kynzi, Charleigh, Aaliyah...special moments from truly special people.  These alternative spelling and made up names do not do any favours for your kid, it will forever be a pain for them and clearly labels you as a complete fool.  There is no way to gloss over this and some folks may find this too abrupt for their sensitive little minds but spare a thought for your little one and show a little consideration for someone you claim is important to you.  Kilan Terez was the icing on the cake though, today's winner of the trailer trash brainfart award!
