Like alot of people i was so sad to read that Patrick Swayze died yesterday, and end of an era for the ultimate chick flick and its idol :-( I couldnt count the amount of times i have watched DIRTY DANCING over the years but i never get sick of it. I am going to watch it tonight when i get home (Even FH likes this film so we will watch it together)
But this got me thinking about that movie and other romantic films etc and i have come up with my list of favourite romantic scenes from the movies :-)
OBVIOUSLY Number 1: Dirty Dancing
Too many things to choose from but them practising to 'Hungry Eyes', practising their lifts in the water, when they are lying in bed and Johnny tells Baby he dreamt her father accepted him (tears) 'She's like the Wind' and of course, the piece de resistance:

and that final dance, when he does the lift i could scream everytime!!!
Number 2: The Notebook
Again, many things to choose from, when the first meet and Noah hangs from the big wheel until Allie agrees to date him, when he writes her a letter everyday for a year, when they finally meet again and argue and he tells her he wrote to her and they have THAT kiss, and the end- complete tear jerker!
Number 3: An Officer and a Gentleman
That final scene when Richard Gere, decked out in the crisp white Naval unifrom, sweeps Debra Winger off her feet to the sound of 'Where We Belong'- Heaven
Number 4: Ghost
Again, Mr Swayze. With his sweet way of saying 'Ditto' to tell Molly he loves her, and then the final part when finally she sees him, with the clouds behind him as he is about to leave (so sad) and the clay scene- NEED I SAY MORE???
Numbers 5 & 6: Sleepless in Seattle & An Affair To Remember
Obviously 2 classics (sleepless being based on an affair to remember- loosely) Love both of these equally, never ceases to make me cry!
Number 7: Gone With The Wind
Love the old fasioned glamour to this film, its an epic.
When Rhett Butler roughly kisses Scarlett O'Hara and says 'I want you to faint. This is what you were meant for'. Now, frankly i DO give a damn about Mr Butler- YUM
Number 8: Sweet Home Alabama
Just LOVE Josh Lucas- those stunning blue eyes! The final bit where she turns up on the beach and he says 'nice dress- where's your husband?' and she says 'I'm looking at him' Love it.
'Why would you want to be married to me anyhow?'
'So i can kiss you anytime i want'
Number 9 and 10: 2 x Leo Dicaprio Films (was obsessed with him as a teenager!) Titanic and Romeo and Juliet
We all know what happens to poor Leo in both films but these were two of the best chick flicks to come out in my childhood, and i never fail to cry ridiculously watching either!!!
Number 11: Four Weddings And A Funeral
From Hugh Grants ridiculous bumbling speech to Andie Macdowell in the street when he tells her he loves her but she marries someone else regardless to the end, where they are stood in the rain, he, with a black eye, asks her 'do you promise to never marry me?'
Number 12: Sense and Sensibility
Merchant and Ivory films, loved the book and loved the film!
Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant, when she makes that AWFUL noise at the end of the film when he realizes her true love had not married someone else and he was declaring his love for her instead.
Other films would include Just Like Heaven, Pretty Woman and 27 Dresses :-)
So come on ladies what are your favourite moments/ scenes from the blockbusters??
