Wedding Dress
Said Yes to the Dress!
So ladies I said YES!
I didnt have to try on too many to know that this was the dress for me but at first Id have to say that I thought I should have tried on more. I guess I was just making things more complicated than I really needed to because trying it on a second time this past week I fell in love all over again. Even my sis that has the total opposite taste in everything we look at said it was perfect. Its light and comfortable with just enough detail. Now its time to look for veils. Any suggestions as to what you think might look good with this dress? |

Color Dilemma
Ok ladies I am having a colour crisis. I was so sure that I wanted my colors to be chocolate brown, champagne and ivory. I thought it was a classic fall combination that would look great on all of my girls. However when I started seeing pictures of wedding parties I wasnt sure how I felt about my guys being in black suits next to the girls in chocolate brown (my guys will not wear brown suits). I know a lot of people do black and brown but Im just not feeling it. So I thought of changing the chocolate brown to eggplant.
I think eggplant is really nice and Im sure all of my girls will look great in it. Using this color will help with my strange issue with the brown and black but Im still feeling torn. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help! |

Wedding Photography
We chose our photographer!
We are trying to get things booked slowly so that it is not as hard on our pocket book and we have managed to find a photographer that we love. They are a little more than we budgeted for but we figure after all is said and done the photos are all we will have. I cant wait to get our engagement shoot done so that we can see firsthand how we work with our photographer. Any ideas regarding good locations for the shoot in the GTA?

Wedding Invitation
Ready, Set but too Early to Print
Hi Ladies, I know it's early but I'm so excited to have a couple of items checked off my list!
My invitations are all laid out and ready to go. I am so happy with the way they have turned out. Some of you may be questioning the blank space in the bottom right hand corner but that is where we will be placing a stamp. The exact stamp has yet to be determined. One of my bridesmaids has done an amazing job of putting them together for me. She is a fellow wbc bride, Tash (aka octoberbride) I couldnt have done this without you!! She is starting her own invitation company called Paper Angels Invitations and Stationary. She is just starting out but she does an amazing job so ladies if any of you are in the GTA and are still looking for a place to get your invites done contact her at www.paperangelsinvitations.com. I have also finally decided on the monogram I am going to use. After a few dozen designs and a lot of playing around with different fonts I am now happy to say that this is the one :) |

DIY Wedding
Unity Sand Ceremony
So, we are having an outdoor ceremony and although my FH and I are both Catholic we will be getting married by a justice of the peace (our priests will not perform the ceremony outside of the church). With that said I would still like to have parts of the Catholic ceremony integrated into our civil ceremony. One of the aspects that I really like is the unity candle ceremony to symbolize us coming together as one.
However, being outside I wasnt too sure how the flame would hold up to the September breeze. Thats when I came across the sand ceremony. It represents the same thing as the candles, would hold up to the elements and makes for one beautiful decorative element in our house. There are a lot of very nice sets available on line but I found them to be very expensive. The ones I found were $50-60 for 3 simple glass vases and some sand. So I did what any DIY bride would do, look for some inspiration and try to recreate it myself. I found some really nice vases at Home Sense. I spent a total of $20 for all three and they are a nice size and look different from anything else that I have seen online. Now all I need to do is find some sand and I have one more thing checked off my list. my own pictures still to come |

Ask a Question
Did anyone else have a hard time with their first dance song?
Ladies I don't understand why I'm having such a hard time with this but my FH and I cannot agree on a song for our first dance.
First of all I feel like we are the only couple in the world that can be together for 7 1/2 years and not have a song in general. This makes me kinda sad. Like we have tons of songs that remind us of each other but no official song. Are there other couples out there without a song or am I actually alone in this? Now since we don't have a song we have been sitting together to find the perfect song for our big day. This is a big deal for me because I want to lyrics to reflect who we are together but it's so hard because our taste in music is soooo different. My ear is drawn to the faster paced island sounds (which will probably be quite difficult to dance to in my dress not to mention that we are getting married in the fall in Toronto so it doesnt really go with the feel of the day) where as he is drawn to the slower tempo heavy sounds. I love to embrace the Italian part of my heritage but he doesn't understand it at all. He doesn't mind a bit of country twang but I can't handle it. Is there hope for me or am I doomed to be unhappy with an over played cliche of a first dance?!? :( |

Ask a Question
How early is too early??
Ladies,
I'm not getting married until September of 2012 but naturally I have been looking at images of wedding dresses online to see what kind of silhouette Id like. During my exploration I found this dress that might be the one. I love everything about it. I showed one of my bridesmaids and even she thinks that it is so me. The problem is I think its too early to start trying dresses on but I have a feeling that this is last seasons design to begin with. How long does it take for dresses to be phased out? Do I wait and chance not being able to find it? So confused :( |

Ask a Question
What do you think of this wedding favor idea?
Now that we have a real date and I know the type of feel we will be going for my FH and I have been looking at ideas for all of the little details that will make our big day special.
Both my FH and I are part Italian part Canadian so we have two very different cultures to impress on our day and one area of debate has been the wedding favours. We want to do a donation to Sick Kids Hospital due to the fact that neither me nor my ring boy would be around today if it werent for that hospital. Unfortunately, the Italian side would have a hard time wrapping their head around the fact that they wont be taking something home with them. An idea that one of my family members suggested was doing candy apples. We are getting married in September which is apple season and my colours are chocolate, champagne and Ivory so a chocolate/caramel apple would fit our colour scheme as well as our budget. I was thinking of putting something on the tag that mentions feeling like a kid again and the donation. Id love to hear what you ladies think. |

Wedding Reception
We Booked our Venue!!!
Hi Ladies,
I know it has been a while but I am back in action. For a while I was really depressed about the entire hall process. Every place we went to lacked that character that I was looking for. I just wasnt able to picture my wedding taking place at any of the venues that we looked at... that is until we went to the Manor. It is a beautiful old mansion close to home that has amazing grounds for both my pictures as well as my ceremony (which will be outdoors facing a beautiful pond). I am so excited. We booked on Tuesday and I can actually picture it all coming together. If I wasnt a WBC junkie before I definitely will be now! DIY ideas here I come lol |

Monograms: Please Vote!
Hi Ladies,
I just learned how to create monograms and have been playing around with a few ideas. I'm sure these need a bit of tweaking but I would love to hear what you think and am hoping to see which one is the most popular. My colors are chocolate brown and champagne so I will have to change the colors when I am ready to print. I have also been looking for an all caps font that would look nice to type our full names in but have been unsuccessful. For all you monogram pros which ones would you suggest? I can't wait to hear your suggestions! |
