Bridal Shower
Roaring 20's Speakeasy Theme
I'm preparing for my bridal shower on August 21st, being thrown by my bridesmaid Beth. Sharing a love for theme parties, she is going with a roaring 20's speakeasy theme. There's a password to get in the door, costumes encouraged, and moonshine planned. I'm really excited, but I can't seem to find a good outfit. I don't want it to be too costumey! Going all out for this one - feather headband, boa, gloves, pearls. Loving it!

Bridal Party
Cupcake & Champagne Tasting
I'm having a Cupcake & Chamagne Tasting on Friday. We are doing cupcakes for the wedding (six different flavors), and I figured this would give us an opportunity to taste some of flavors we won't taste that night. Also, we are tasting champagne so I can choose which one to purchase.
It's just us girls: my in-town bridesmaids, FMIL, mother, Junior bridesmaid, and flower girl. I bought this game that called "Girlfriends" so that they can all get to know each other a little better. I think it will be a good time. The cupcake flavors (all in mini size for the tasting) are 1 dozen: Mexican Hottie (chocolate and cinnamon cake with marshmallow icing) 1 dozen: Ginger Hibiscus 1 dozen: Pretty in Pink (strawberry cake with cheesecake frosting) 1 dozen: Almond Joy (coconut cake with chocolate ganache and almonds) What are you doing with your bridal party before the big day?? |

Wedding Dress
I'm Pregnant!
With 136 days till my wedding, I just found out I'm pregnant! The dress I have will no longer work - it's very form fitting - no room for growing belly!
I had just started to all in love with the dress, but that's okay. I'm really excited about this news. I haven't told anyone but Steve and my parents, and now you guys! I hope I am able to find a pretty dress in time :) Any other expectant brides?? |

We're doing manzanita centerpieces on half the tables. I'm using these candle holders, and to bring in the blue and clear I'll be using hanging crystals.

Custom Cake Topper
So, my FH is a huge Huge HUGE "Family Guy" fanatic. I found this guy online who makes custom "Family Guy" wedding cake toppers. He customizes Lois' dress and Peter's tux, along with the flowers. I'm using it as Steve's gift. I think he will love it.
He does other custom figures as well. I'm on the waiting list, so I am crossing my fingers that I will ACTUALLY get them :) |

Flower Girl Dress
I let all of my bridesmaids pick their own dress (in my chosen color of Lapis) at David's Bridal. I also let the flower girl do the same, so she could feel like a 'big girl.'
Well, this is the dress she really wants. It is a mini version of my dress - which she didn't know when she picked it. I think it's adorable on her, but my future mother-in-law said she had to wait to buy it for her in case she changes her mind. My FMIL wants something a little more frothy and princess like. |

Changing Everything
Well, I was having a lot of trouble finding cohesion in my wedding theme. So, I've changed my color scheme to give it more of a "theme" feel without having a real theme. I'm calling it "midnight," and the colors are now dark blue, dark purple, and silver.
I'm actually really excited. I haven't talked to the florist yet, but my designer thinks it should be great. |

Adding A Baby To The Mix...
My future mother in law has added my future brother in law's new son to the bridal party. She has decided on - and already ordered - a blue wagon for his sister (my flower girl Kayden) to pull down the aisle. I will now not have a flower girl dropping flowers but carrying a ball of flowers...dragging her 8-month old brother in a wagon...
I can just see it. A baby in a wagon crying in the middle of the ceremony... A blue wagon at my primarily purple wedding... She ALREADY ORDERED IT. |
