We're finally ENGAGED!!!

Chris and I are finally engaged!!! I could not have imagined a better proposal than the one he did. =) This last weekend Chris, our friend David and I were in Millbrae for Nora's Tango Weekend which started July 2nd and ended July 4th. Our Argentine Tango teacher Nora Olivera has been hosting Tango Weekend and Week for the past 13 years and this is the second year we have gone. Tango Weekend is basically a large dance convention/festival where several very famous Tango masters from Argentina teach 4 1.5 hour classes a day and in the evenings we have milongas (dances) that start around 9pm and end around 2am.

He proposed during the milonga on July 3 around 10:30pm. In milongas, generally couples dance a set of 3-5 songs together and in between those sets there are cortinas. Cortinas are short breaks in the music between sets and they are normally used to change partners and they usually last for about a minute or two. During one of those cortinas, Chris had asked the DJ beforehand to play "Spend My Life with You" Eric Benet feat. Tamia. He totally played it down by saying "That's so weird they're playing this song!", anyways we danced the song until it faded out.

By the time the song had "ended", most of the people on the dance floor had cleared away and our teacher Nora came to the microphone and started talking about how it's unusual to dance during the cortina and that we had something going on. When she said that, I knew that Chris was going to propose! You can watch our video below to see the raw footage of our engagement! Our friend Jerry also took pictures of the entire engagement as well as a set of posed pictures later in the evening and I should get those back by next week!



Chris went through a great deal of planning to pull this off and I'm so glad he did because it was amazing! Nora, apparently has had many requests over the past 13 years from other suitors wanting to propose during her event but until now she has never allowed anyone to interrupt her event like this and she probably will never allow it again making our engagement very unique! We are both very grateful to Nora and her staff in helping make this possible!
