BRIDESMAIDS
Potential Bridesmaid Dresses
I haven't started going with my girls (theones I asked - have not asked everyone yet) to see what dresses I want them to try on and get, but I started to look to get an idea of styles I like. I hope I'm not the bride that picks the ugly dresses for their bridesmaids.

Some of the ones are not in the right color, but it wouldn't let me change it. These dresses are from Alfred Angelo (and come in several colors) and two of them are from David's Bridal. They're all pretty affordable (About the $150-250 range).

IN MEMORY OF
Remembering Lost Loved Ones
I recently had an Uncle of mine pass away. Eric and I were discussing our families and realized that we have several loved ones who will unfortunately not be attending our weddings as they have passed. My aunt apologized to me (I felt so bad because she is the one who lost her husband!) saying that she's sorry my uncle will not be attending my wedding and that he was looking forward to it very much. At that point I decided that I wanted to include all of my relatives who have passed in some way, because even though they are not there physically I would like to think that they are there in spirit. In order to do this (and I spoke it over with Eric) we are going to make a photo display including pictures of our loved ones that have past and place it in the back of the room where our reception is (I have 1 aunt, 3 uncles, 2 great aunts, my grandparents on my dad's side, etc., and Eric has several relatives that have passed a well). I figured that we would just say something quick about it at the reception to recognize that we do wish that they were there with us, but we do not want to drag it out and make our wedding a sad event because we want it to be happy obviously. Just figured I would share my idea of what I'm doing in case people were trying to think of something to do for lost loved ones.

Here are a few bouquets that I found that I like. In case you can't tell I am partial to white and I REALLY like roses. Just figured I'd throw them up there - maybe someone else will get an idea.

Ask a Question
Too Young to Marry?
So I've been having this issue with some coworkers and other people that I know when I tell them that I am getting married. The typical response has been "Why? You have your whole life ahead of you?" Are they really serious?!?! I am 24 years old! Would they prefer 30? Or maybe 40? I am so sure of marrying my FH (whom I have been with for 6 years now) that I would never even think of being with someone else, so why wait to get married when we are both so sure?! To top it off - I think it's funny that people say I should wait to get married when my dad was first married at 18 (to someone else - not my mom) and then he and my mom married when he was 21 and she was 20. I mean my mom had 2 kids by the time she was my age, and my dad had 4 (two from the previous thing - I refuse to call her a woman)!! I understand the whole having fun and the fact that being a woman today is very different from say 30 years ago, but I don't think that means I should wait to get married. I have even had a coworker try telling me that people who get married so young are usually the type who are more in love with the idea of being married then they are with their FH, and that people that get married my age are usually divorced by 30. Whether or not that's true - I could really care less and did not ask for divorce statistics with respect to age. I don't want to be 40 when I start trying to have kids! What the hell happened to people just being happy for you?!?! If I wanted someone's opinion on the success rate for my marriage I would ask for it!

So what exactly is the right age to get married and when is it too young?

GARTER
GARTER

Ask a Question
Two Garters???
So I received my garter belt(s) in the mail the other day (stole an idea from someone on here and got football team theme since FH is obsessed with a particular football team). I had them delivered to my mom's house and when I got there I opened it up and showed them to her. My impression of why there were two garters is because one is one I wear (and can keep for whatever reason) and the other is the one that is thrown during the garter toss. My mom has the impression (which we argued about for a few minutes) that I wear the one on my leg and my FH Is supposed to wear the other on his arm??? This is apparently what she did for her wedding, but I have NEVER heard of this before, and (sorry if anyone is actually doing this) but I think it's pretty stupid!!! She swears that this is why there are two garters, but I disagree.

So my question is:

Why the two garters? Is the extra just to throw or is the groom supposed to wear it on his arm?

CATHOLIC MASS
CATHOLIC MASS

Ask a Question
Catholic Wedding Mass
My FH is religious and grew up in the Catholic religion. I have not and am willing to convert to Catholicism so that we can have a mass (he wants one) and because I am interested in learning about the Catholic religion (we try to attend masses on Sundays). So I am taking RCIA classes to learn about the Catholic faith that way I can get baptised, receive communion, and get confirmed on Easter of 2009. Even though Eric really wants a Catholic mass for the wedding I am wondering how many people are doing this, and why/why not. I have heard from some people that they wished they hadn't done it because it was too long and my concern is sitting, standing, kneeling in my dress for an hour.

Stressed!!!!
Ahh!
I have become completely obsessed with this website and planning for my wedding which is still 347 days away. I am constantly looking at different ideas for the wedding and have found things on other people's blogs that I didn't even think to consider! I am extremely grateful for the site as I have found several things and have gotten ideas about what I want to do for my wedding (thank you by the way ladies). The problem is I am not in the position right now where I have time to spare to be checking out all these things constantly. I am down to my last year of law school (something I have worked extremely hard to do) and I am going to be taking the bar before my wedding and I still am more preoccupied with the wedding than anything else. I am still looking for a job for after graduation (which many people have gotten this out of the way by now), I still have two sets of finals to do on top of the bar and the MPRE, etc etc. This is horrible ugh!!

Damn you WBC!!!!

Chocolate Ask a Question Father of the Bride

Ask a Question
Father of the Bride
So.. My parents are divorced and have remarried (over 10 years ago). They get along with each other and have no problems at any type of functions for my brother and I where both are needed to be present with their spouses. I get along really well with my stepparents and love them both. Now getting to my question. I spoke to my father last night and I thought that he and my stepmother would get ready with me at my mother's house on the wedding day (my mom would not have a problem with this). He said (and he lives closer to the church than my mom) that he believes that is supposed to just meet me at the church and be already waiting there for me. I don't know exactly what tradition is - he believes it's waiting for me at the church I thought he gets ready with me.

So my question is - is it "tradition" or proper that my father wait for me at the church or that he get ready with me and ride to the church with me? What are you ladies doing? Thanks!

Wedding Hair Style
Different but Elegant
When I get my hair done for the wedding I want it to be a little different than from what i call a "traditional" hairstyle. I don't want my hair just put up and curled or left down and curled or straightened. I want something a little bit different - something unique yet elegant. Here are some pictures that I found of hairstyles that I like. I really liked the one in the middle (which is why it's there)

I figured I'd make one too - they are cute I have to admit.

I went to a craft store today and I am still considering changing my color to something else. I have to go to a dress shop and look for bridesmaids dresses and I guess I will decide whether to stick with clover green or go with another color.

Chocolate
My wedding is taking over a year to plan! Eric and I have been engaged since November 24, 2007. The colors of my wedding was originally clover green - but I recently decided to change the color to Chocolate brown and gold (colors of MOH dress). I am extremely excited and looking forward to getting married and spending the rest of my life with my perfect match!
