Engagement
Scheduled Our Engagement Pictures
We booked the day to get our engagement pictures done, September 24, and best of all, it's FREE!! I posted an ad on a photography blog in the SF Bay area, where we live, and so many people contacted me offering to do them for free as long as I let them use them in their portfolio. Everyone that contacted me were professionals too with beautiful photos to show me from previous shoots. This is an excellent way to get great and cheap photos done, I definitely recommend doing that! The lady doing them is letting us choose 2 different locations, 3 hours of shooting, all of the photos on a CD and 25 of our choice edited, such a GREAT deal! So we decided on Baker Beach and the Palace of Fine Artsboth in San Francisco, they are both gorgeous locations! Just need to find something cute to wear now! I am so excited, and just one more thing to check off the list! :)

Wedding Reception
The Perfect Tea Room!!!
So, even though we have only been engaged for about 2 weeks now, I have been racking my brain for the entire time about where to have a wedding on a budget! WELL, I think I finally found the perfect place! It's in a state park in Frederick, MD in the Catoctin Mountains, called Gambrill State Park Tea Room. The great room is GORGEOUS with an old cabin feel to it with hardwood floors and tall ceilings with wooden beams going across. Attached to the great room is a beautiful balcony that overlooks the mountains. We are holding the reception in the tea room, and having the ceremony at an overlook right next to the tea room, that overlooks everything. It is absolutely stunning and I just know it will be the perfect place for our small intimate wedding. Better than anything... it's only $120 a day to rent!!! Since it is a state park it is a lot cheaper, the only down side is you have to do a lot of the work yourself, but thats alright, gotta get my DIY hands to work!!! :) I am so excited and feel like I got so much accomplished just by finding the place lol... Happy planning ladies!!

Engagement
We're Engaged!!!
My fiance and I were on vacation last week in South Lake Tahoe, during one of the days out on the lake, he proposed!!! I could not imagine spending my life with any other man than him, and I immediately said yes, and since then we have been busy planning our big day!! We decided to get married on September 15, 2012 and want a small and intimate ceremony/reception with just close family and friends. I really want to keep it low budget since we are in the process of saving money to buy a house. It has only been a week and I am already feeling like I am going to go crazy. Our colors are purple, white and silver/gray, and we are getting married in Maryland, our home state. Currently we both live in California and all of our family is back in Maryland, which is making it even crazier! Any wedding information/meetings have to be discussed via phone, internet or my mom until we go home in December to see everything in person. Any other brides out there planning a low budget wedding with any tips on where to start? Also any MD brides with any idea of nice low key venues that may be cheaper than the average price? I am totally alright with lots of DIY projects to keep the cost down!!! Any advice is GREATLY appreciated! Happy wedding planning ladies!! :)
