My Hair Trial!!! And wondering, did you pay the full price?

First off, I had my hair trial this afternoon and would love love love to hear what you think.

Secondly, my hairdresser said she wouldn't do my hair without a trial, which I was totally cool with. But today, she made me pay the full 65$ for an up-do, which is the same price I'll pay my wedding day. OUCH! I had planned on paying something, but the full price? Especially since she's the one who said she requires it, and its not like I'll be doing anything today! I feel pretty crappy right now, I definitely didn't have 130$ as my hair cost in the budget. Not cool. Maybe I should have planned on it. Did you ladies pay full price? Should you have to?

I paid half price for hair/make-up, but my half price was $150 so yeah, most of them I've encountered charge nearly full price.

Yikes, I guess I'm glad mine is 65$!! I guess it depends where you live, around us mine is pretty expensive!

do we have the same stylist???? LOL. yeah, mine is the same and if I want her to do my makeup I have to pay for the trial as well, 75 each then 75 each for day of. In my opinion I think they should charge a little less considering you are having them do it for the wedding and possibly all the bridesmaids. But, im not a stylist. you hair looks good!

She did a wonderful job and it looks beautiful :), but it's a bummer because normally they throw in the trial for free! :(

My only advice is to maybe ask ahead of time! If I had known I would be paying that I wouldn't have been so startled! And I could have figured it into the budget! With only about a month to go, adding 65$ is kind of painful!

Yeah I asked about the trial ahead of time, it did startle me that it was high.. but I paid half too.. it was still high though lol

I am paying full price for both but I am use to it I guess cause (being african american) I have to get my hair done every one-to-two weeks... But it was definitely worth it cause your hair looks amazing!

ohh it is perfect!!  love the tiara, and your hair looks beautiful and done up so nicely but also really natural! its beautiful and you're a beautiful girl!

I havent had a trial yet so I actually hadn't even thought about that yet... I have no idea if I'll have to pay anything. I could see paying something though..

it looks great! im an assistant manager for a salon in north raleigh & i know at our salons we charge full price for an updo trial run - but we don't REQUIRE it. the stylists just highly encourage it to make sure they are able to create exactly what you like. so if she requires it, she really only should've charge you half price :\ that sucks i'm sorry!!! but your hair is beautiful!

I had mine today too! I just posted. Yours looks really lovely girl! A good friend of mine is my hairdresser so she didnt charge me anything however I gave paid for her lunch today :) and she is doing my hair for my big day for free as her gift to me so I lucked out!

I'm so glad you ladies like it! I wasn't sure if it was too curly! And it makes me feel better to hear that alot of places charge, I just wish I had known that before hand!!

I am doing my hair trial for my bachelorette party :), I am african american and getting extra hair put in.  If it can weather the storm of my 3 day party in hot new orleans during 4th of july, it will surely make it from my wedding through my honeymoon (well that will be my first time seeing fh in 5 months, I may need to rethink the hair, lol)

it seems to me if it was required it should be part of the total price that she gave you upon enlisting her services, not a "suprise! oh btw..." kinda shady, but your hair is divine...

rmmharrison, I wish I was smart and thought to have my trial the day of my bachelorette party. That would have made me feel so much better! I'll have to make sure my friends and sister do that for their wedding, at least they can learn from my mistakes!

That is pretty $hitty that she REQUIRED it and then charged you full price!!!  The bonus is that it is beautiful, you look great :)

It definitely gives me something to ask when I call for my hair trial.

You look very very pretty!!!! I really liked the hair style! I paid 45 for the trial, and 65 on the wedding day! And I also had to pay the make up trial 2 times because I hated how she made it the first time, and the second time it was even worse, so I decided to do my own make up!

It looks beautiful!!! I just made a post about this same thing. I could receive trial run make-up, make up for bridal portraits, make-up for day of and a hairstyle for $500 and I wasn't sure if the price was good. I agree trial runs should be cheaper and I really didn't put $500 in the wedding budget!!!

Oh Lord! I have a hair appointment Saturday morning. I better ask her what her price is for a trial while I'm there. I do not like surprises!!
