My Bridal Shower
I had such a blast!!!
I felt so much love at my shower and we had sooooo much fun. The games were great...we played this one game..."The Paper Bag Game" It was hilarious. I got great gifts and lots of good advice. I wish I could do it all over again.
Here are the instructions for the paper bag game. Once everyone has a bag over their head, the hostess says, "I need you to remove one thing you don't need." The hostess repeats this until the last person realizes that they don't need the damn bag on their heads. It's amazing how many people don't get it right off. It's is hilarious. One girl got to the point that she removed her name tag because she didn't have anything else to take off...but she still had that bag on her head...LOL |

May Brides, how is the planning going????
With less than 30 days to go, I am just about done.
Checklist: Wedding Dress: Check...although the alterations won't be done until April 28th. I am a little frustrated about that. Bouquets: Done and got a hell of a deal...If you are in the Houston area, and you need bouquets, let me know...I know of a you lady that does good work at a very reasonable price. MOH's/Bridesmaids: Check.... They are all done!!!! Yes... BM/Groomsmen: Check.... They are all done!!! Yes... Wedding Cakes: Check.... DONE DONE DONE...Yes....Thanks to houstonbride2010...she referred me to a couple of places and I went with Ms. Anita of Heavenly Sweet Treats....she is such a sweet lady, not to mention the cake was off the chain and very, very reasonable. Rings: Check...and got a hell of deal on those as well...We went to Kay Jewelers...we got like 60% off of the set we chose. We went in with a budget and came out with enough change for the cruise...YES!!!! Honeymoon: Check....I am so excited to go on this cruise. Am I wrong, I am just as excited about the cruise as I am about the wedding...LOL DJ: Check...His cousin is a DJ, so that is our wedding gift. Reception Hall: Check Officiating Minister: Check...FH's brother-in-law Church: Check..getting married in the church I grew up in. Church Decorations: Check....I am so excited about this. I always dreamed of having columns and beautiful floral arrangements...so I found Ms. Bernice with Your Day Weddings....she does great work and is extremely reasonable. Hotel Room: ...Thanks to Gorgeous6 and her offer for the discounts...I am looking into that as we speak. She is such a sweetheart. The only things we have left to do are...finish paying for the cake and church decorations and get the kids some clothes...Oh and I need a dress for the reception. What am I forgetting ladies??? How far along are you all??? |

Is it Bridezilla time or what??????
So, DB tells one of my bridesmaids that her dress won't be in until April 22nd. They originally told us that it would be back on March 26th. WTH???!!!!!! This will not work. So, before I go BRIDEZILLA on them, I need some suggestions on how I should handle this. Please help me before I lose my mind!!!!

Champagne Flutes and Shoes
I finally got the flutes I wanted. I saw them on a few different websites....they ranged from $50-75. Guess what....I got them at Hobby Lobby when they had the 50% off sale for $25. I had them engraved at Things Remembered.
Also found a pair of shoes at DSW for $32 bucks!!! Not sure that I want to wear these with my dress but maybe I will for the reception. What do you ladies think of my flutes and shoes????? |

Wedding Cake Drama!!!
Ok, I need to vent ladies.
I went to this bakery shop in Humble,TX because I had heard how great the cakes are there. I went by on Friday and they were really busy...good sign... right. So, I made an appointment to go back on Tuesday (yesterday) for the cake testing ang pricing. I show up promptly at 12:30. The young lady comes out and says, "May I help you?" I tell here that I am there for my 12:30 appointment...she says, "Really?"..."Let me check." She goes in the back and comes out and says, "I don't see anyone on the calendar." So, immediately I am pissed, but I don't let her see that. She asks who took my appointment and I described the little lady who did. She then tells me to hold up a minute and let her call the lady. In my mind I am like what good is that going to do if they are not prepared for the taste testing. While she is doing this my stomach starts growling and the place is lit with the aroma of fresh baked cakes of course...you can feel the warmth coming from the kitchen. She comes out again and says, well we will have to reschedule because the manager had jury duty anyway. Now....I want to scream!!! Is it just me? Why in the world did she take me through all of that just to tell me that the manager had jury duty and had to reschedule anyway?... She asked me when did I want to come back....Can you all guess what I said? LOL |
