Save The Date
Photos taken by Enoch Attey
I'm back at school in Alberta and the day Laurence left for Vancouver, we took these Save The Date photos. A friend of mine took them in less than an hour. Alberta weather is unpredictable, but we had a great time. I just can't wait until we finally say "I Do". We're in the 200s now! Woohoo!!!

Bridesmaid Dresses
YELLOW
I hate posting things and changing my mind hours later, but... I've been really liking the idea of having an all yellow wedding. we could do different shades of yellow. my Bridesmaids have been actively looking for dresses that they like... This is one that I really like. I want to see it on the ladies' bodies though...
k... i haven't been able to post the dress on here... sorry... http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2053/#LineList=4&catid=1&displaytype=GridMedium&activePage=6&rpp=9&SortOrder=BridesmaidLineDefault but the matching flowergirl dresses are found here: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/flowergirl/fl4007/?color=buttercup&colorid=9 |

Wedding Flowers
silk flower pedals
When Laurence and I first saw the Swan-e-set aisle, we noticed that it was not that long, so we decided to do it in a different style, and come from the side. That however is not going to work due to the fact that the banquet tables will already be set up and hidden behind dividers on that side. Anyway, I will be coming from the centre aisle and it won't be a long aisle to come down from, but it's the way that would cause the least amount of hassle.
I also found out that I need to be collecting silk pedals. Knowing that burgandy is a hard color to find, Yellow silk flower pedals will have to do. The kids will go down the aisle and out the side to enter their play room complete with a jumpy castle, wii, play station and whatever else they need... id love for them to get a live feed of the wedding, but they probably wouldn't care for that :) I am currently in the process of asking my flowergirls and bubbleboys to participate in our wedding, so we actually intend to have 11 flower girls and 6 bubble boys. I found out there are bubble guns that create bubbles by simply pulling a trigger... now where to find those... If any of you know as to where I could find yellow and/or burgandy silk flower pedals for cheap AND good bubble guns, please let me know. Thanks! |

Flowermaidens
no aisle runner, so flower pedals to create the way
I haven't posted anything on here for a while. It's just kind of discouraging when nothing i write gets saved. Anyway, I will attempt to post yet again. I have gotten a little more planning done.
I've decided against an aisle runner. I wanted all my nieces and nephews in my wedding, so I'm going to have all 15 or so of them drop tons of pedals onto the floor and use 6 flowermaidens to drop my flowers and make sure that the flowers aren't EVERYWHERE... It works out well because Laurence and I have cousins and nieces who are too old to be flowergirls, and we wanted to keep our bridal party at 10. That said, I have the flowermaidens dresses! They're purple... the only thing is, i'm liking YELLOW & BURGUNDY! isn't picking a color so difficult! Anyway, Laurence and I went to California and were able to iron some more details out. We're closer than ever and he's surprisingly really "into" the wedding planning. I'm still feeling a bit overwhelmed since I have to go back to school in less than two weeks, but I know this will all work out well... |

Color
Yellow...
I know my colors keep changing... what can i say? I'm eclectic. I have a picture with a friend of mine wearing a pretty yellow and am considering that shade for my bridesmaids and the whole wedding color theme. I got advice from my cousin, Del, who pointed out that shiny satin-y material in the summer heat is kind of cruel to my bridesmaids and also that shiny dresses don't look that great. She used jersey material. Anyway, my girls are now searching through www.dessy.com for their bridesmaid dresses.

Color
"Thoughts"
Well, we've made our (hopefully) final change on the colors of our wedding. Purple, Yellow and white. The Purple and white cultivar Pansy sums up our color motto.
The name pansy is derived from the French word pensée meaning "thought", and was so named because the flower resembles a human face; in August it nods forward as if deep in thought. Anyway, I love Yellow, but don't want my bridesmaids in yellow dresses... so they'll be in purple, yellow (or gold) shoes. Matching the exact purple and yellow shades are going to be tricky, but I guess this is all a part of the adventures toward that glorious day! Side Note: I just got back from two weeks in China and received an email from Laurence that read, "please think about our centerpieces". Brought a smile to my face and helped me realize just how into OUR day he is. :) |

For the little ones...
providing jumpy castle & childcare!
Laur & I have a bunch of kids that we absolutely love, so we want to honor them on our wedding day too... so we've booked another room at Swan-E-Set, rented a jumpy castle and are going to hire babysitters so that after all the kids throw pedals of roses down the aisle and watch me walk on 'em, they can head down to their own party and remember The Mariano wedding as the awesomest one ever ;)
