 My Dress and other bits n pieces My bouquet made from white tulips, which I made myself the night before as with all of the other bouquets and buttonholes Our thank you printed on the back of the order of service card at the ceremony Walking down the asile on the arm of my best friend and brother, Daniel Lighting the memory candle at the begining of the ceremony in honour of my parents and Corey's brother, who sadly passed away Our sand ceremony. We had fun filling the vase. We started to push eachother out of the way, so that we could get our color to cover the others color. It was quite funny. I love the colours of this photo. We were walking through the park next to our wedding venue to take some photos. The bridal Party The Bridal Party with our Flowergirls. Love this pic! Centerpiece on the guest table The favour boxes I made. The Children had their own favours. Centerpiece at the children's table. I'm not sure if you can see it onhere, but the flowers each had eyes on them to make it a little whimsical. The menu/place cards we made. The memory candle was put at the bridal table and kept lit during the entire reception in honour of our loved ones that had passed Cutting the cake, which was a mocha fudge torte covered in genach and fondant. Our first dance to Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters' Kid's taking advantage of their favours during the reception Our daughters speech made so many people cry! dancing the night away! Very Late... But Here's Some Pics From Our Wedding
Ok, so I've been a married woman now for 9 months and obviously, have been quite slack in posting photos of the day for you guys to see. I just completley forgot! SORRY!
But lets see, the wedding day was incredible... It was such a relaxed, carefree day, I couldn't have asked for more! The reception was so much fun. It was such a party! Everyone had a great time (and even to this day, people still talk about it!) And as everyone says, it went by too quickly... but the photos we got from it were beautiful! And the memories we have from that day will always be with us. Anyway, these are a few of my faves as well as some of the details that we had at both the ceremony and reception. I'm so happy with the look of the dress. The dressmaker is amazing! Not only did she replicate two pronovias dresses for me, but she did it from pictures I gave her. NO PATTERN! And the whole thing only cost me $400!!! I'm still in shock..... |

Am I being blamed and punished for something that's beyond my control??? PLEASE HELP!
Recently, a close friend of mine had realised that the date of my hen's night is booked on a date that is near her birthday. My hen's night has been booked for weeks now and recenlty, i was asked if there was a chance of changing the date of the hen's, for her birthday. Some of the reasons I got for this request were that she has been depressed latley, and she can't do anything on the night before as she already had plans and is unable to break them.
So when she was told that the invites have already been sent out, things have been booked and that I have really been looking forward to it as I've recently had a breakdown (from the stress of planning a wedding, raising a 3 year old, working as much as i can to pay for things and keeping a house), not to mention the fact that I have changed the date twice before to accomodate for other events and people... I am the one that is uncompromising and insensitive!! Because there are still 4 weeks until the wedding... My fiancee called her the other night to try to fix this rift between us and to explain our position on on all of this. He even BEGGED her to try to be supportive of me because of my breakdown and because I am doing this on my own as both of my parents are dead. He tried to explain that I am depressed as I have no family to support me through this, and as a close friend, she should be there to help me deal and support me through it. But she refuses to listen or understand.... But the funny thing in all of this, is that, during their long "talk" she mentioned that she will never get the chance to be married, as she is infact, a lesbian.... Could this be the reason that she is being so unsupportive and stubborn???? Is this why she needs her birthday so badly???? I can't help but feel that she is trying to punish me for being able to get marred when same sex couples here can not... This buisness has caused a huge rift between us as well as caused problems, stress and fights with other members of our group of friends (or family as we call it) How do I handle this situation without causing anymore problems for everyone else? We have 44 days until the wedding, and I don't want or need the extra stress when I am already having trouble dealing with the fact that both of my parents aren't here to share in this occasion. Not to mention everything else that is on my plate. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks! |

Wedding Flowers
Our Centerpieces... (I made a mock up)
Yesterday Corey and I went out for some wedding related shopping.
It was great, first we hit up the baker and ordered out cake, then we got the majority of the things that we needed for the centrepieces, bouquets and buttonholes (as well as some of the flowers - artificial orcourse!). Then we went to check out this clothing store that makes suits for infants, which we've now decided to get one for our nephew (who's 3 month old) so that he's all pimped out for the wedding. Yesterday was such a productive day. And since I couldn't wait, I had to put together a mock up of the centerpieces that I plan on making.... The only thing I didn't do was pour in the water or scatter some votives in and around it. But all in all, I think that they will look really nice on the day..... I have made the decision the change the fish bowl vase for one that's a bit bigger though, but atleast you get the idea of what I'm going for.... What do you think? |

Got the dresses!
I'm so relieved that we found the dresses for the bridesmaids.
We went out to get them and spent the day going from shop, to shop, to shop, to shop. It got to the point that I didn't thing we were gonna find anything that we all agreed on, until it was 20 mins before the stores shut and we stumbled upon the dresses. The only thing on the day that the three of us agreed upon.... And the cherry on top? We got them on sale with 30% off the marked price! I feel so relieved that we've got the dresses out of the way..... Okay, so not the most flattering pics of the girls, but hey? The dresses are awesome!!! |
