This is simmessj's Green Wedding!

I am having the hardest time coming up with what I want to do with me hair, and I also can't figure out how if I should get my make up done or what. I cant believe how fast the wedding is coming only like a month to go, in fact 5 weeks from today and I will be married. I can't wait its just coming so fast. Sucks that I am not working right now, so Kevin's income is paying for alot of stuff, and his parents have been so great about helping out. I couldn't ask for better parent-in-laws. Even my family has been great, mom has helped out so much, and the sam is more help each day. My maid of honor is stressing me out alittle as she is not here to help, which I knew was going to happen. But she was suppose to be here at the beginning of july and now not until the 10th and her fiancee is coming too. Oh yea she is getting married on September 5 and I am suppose to help with that too. Its getting hard to do what everyone expects of me. I just can't wait to be at the church. To see Kevin standing at the end of the isle, and to have everything we have talked about so much come true. So many vendors to double check everything with, and have to get to the tanning bed so I am not pasty. MONEY MONEY MONEY, I hate the that world totally revolves around it. I am sorry to vent so much just needed to let some stress out.

Yesterday was so exciting we had the first bridal shower of two, it was my future mother in law who threw it. It turned out amazing. We got so much stuff and couldn't be happier, our kitchen is officially stocked. I didn't have to do a whole lot, it was very stress free,and fun. We had a great day and I couldn't ask for a better family that I am about to enter into.

We also ordered our shoes the other day. I am so excited mine are going to be fuschia seeing that the girls are wearing white. I am just hoping that everything falls into place. There are just a few more things I have to get like jewelery, garters, and cake stuff. So far the hardest thing looks to be paying for everything, but I think that it will come together.

I just feel so blessed to have my family and friends who are helping me. I can't wait to have it all come together, there are a few things stressing me out, but believe it or not its not wedding related in the sense that I am stressing about everything going on. Its people who I hope are going to put aside things and let this day be great for me. I hope that they are going to put their stuff aside and help me to make my day special as I would for them. Well until another day, I have some things to organize such as the wedding bible as we call it.

This is my dress, and I am so excited. Its everything that I thought it would be and so beautiful! Im getting so over excited waiting for it all to come and its is very quickly.

We found a really great photographer and she is amazing. Her name is Carrie Luce and she is out of Randolph, NY. She has been known to work with one of the well known photographers in the area. She met with us on a sunday because I was home from Albany and only had a limited amount of time to get things done. She showed us her different weddings that she has shot, and also was willing to answer all of our questions. I know that one of our big concerns was that she said she didn't have a back up camera because her equipement was all new. Still alittle apprehensive about that, she told us that she would borrow a back up camera so that way our anxiety was settled. She liked to have fun with the wedding party and is with us through the entire day. She told me that she will show up when I am getting my hair done all the way until the reception starts to die down. She also was willing for an additional fee to give us the copyright to all of our wedding pictures. This made me very happy with the way technology is today. We will get all of our pictures on a cd with the rights for a very reasonable price. Her motto was that you shouldn't have to pay alot to capture such an important event in life. Lets just say the price is under $1000 and she is willing to do anything and everything to make sure that our day goes smoothly. I am very happy with our decision. Once we have engagement photos I will be sure to post the link to them, oh yea did I mention that they aree also included in the price.

So when I was home over christmas my fiancee and I did some crazy vendor booking. We had three different flower appointments and they were all so crazy with prices. The first place that we went to was willing to do everything that I wanted. When we first started planning the wedding, I wanted to have baby blue as our accent color, so we were looking at having to spray paint the baby breath and so on. That place took two days to get me the price quotes which would have been ok if she wouldn't have told me that she would have them to me the next morning after the meeting.
The next meeting went very well and actually inspired me to change my accent colors when the florist put together an arrangment for my bridesmaids that I loved. They are going to each carry a lilly and then around that lilly will be a flower called alstroemerias. It looked so pretty together that I decided I wanted to add the fuschia to my colors. I then decided that my maid of honor will have white roses with white baby breath, and I will have a combination of the roses and lillies in my bouquet. I have not decided if I will have the alstromerias in mine but we will see.
The last meeting was awful the woman didn't listen to a word that I said. In fact she had the audacity to change the flowers that I wanted for the ring bearer because she believed that it would look better. I told her that I wanted mini roses and she basically told me that mini carnations would look better. I seriously just pictured strangling her and telling her to listen to me. But I didn't, I kept a smile on my face and let it pass.
We ended up going with the second florist Lakeview Gardens. They are really great, and they were more than accomindating with my colors changing and what not. They told me to let them know if I have any other changes or need anything else, and we got pretty much everything for around 300-350 in price. I was so excited and I have been told that they do the best job in the area.

I went into the store to do wedding dress shopping which I did find, but I fell in love with these dresses too. My maid of honors dress will be the Fuschia with the kiwi green trip and the bridesmaid's dresses will be kiwi green with the fushia trim. I figured that the girls will wear white shoes. These are really cute and only cost about $25 from payless. I know that money is always an issue so I am trying to keep costs down.

I was also talking to my maid of honor who is my bestest friend in the whole world, and we decided that it would be really cute and easy if each of the bridesmaids simply straighten their hair, that way they aren't paying a great amount to get it all done up. I am paying for my maid of honor as part of her gift and that will make her stand out just alittle more from the bridesmaids.

Also we thought about for the flower girl that we would get her dress at burlington or something. She is only going to be three and I think that it would be crazy to spend a huge amount on a dress that she won't be able to wear very long. I also found her shoes at payless too, but I am waiting to see what her dress ends up being. I am thinking about making her a little crown of flowers to wear in her hair with the ribbons coming off in the colors matching the bridesmaids. We will see though.

I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on save the date cards so I got creative. I created a business card in photoshop and then uploaded it on vistaprint.com. From there I ordered the business cards, it was 250 for like 14 dollars I beleive. Then we bought magnets and stuck the business cards to them. We sent them out to all of the family and friends who we plan on inviting to the wedding. It was simple and cute. I love it, let me know what you all think.

It was the sweetest thing and totally unexpected. We had talked about it here and there, the whole marriage thing. I knew that it was going to come soon but I wasn't sure when. Well I had just taken a five hour train home from Albany, Ny where I attended school and of course it took forever. The train is always running late. When I got off I gave him a big hug and kiss. I practically ran to the jeep because I had so much stuff and wanted to put it all down. I went to open up the back seat door and he stopped me. Kevin asked me to open up the back of the jeep and laying there was a bouquet of white roses, which are my favorite and alittle gift bag. I picked up both and got into the jeep. I opened up the flowers and they were beautiful. I then opened up the gift bag and there was a box. I opened up the box and there was a little penguin and pretty black stone. I knew what it meant but wasn't sure if I was right, so I looked at him for reassurance. He asked if I knew what it represented and I said that it did. It was from the first date that we went on when we saw Good Luck Chuck, in the movie when a penguin finds the one that he wants to spend the rest of his life with, he goes searching for the perfect pebble to present to his love. If she accepts it then they are together forever. Well, Kevin drew another black box out of his pocket and he asked me to marry him. My first response was "are you for serious." Then I of course said Yes and not just once a millon times. I was so excited and things were so perfect. He said that he had brought a towel to get down on one knee, I told him that it was ok, because what did happen was original and unique like us and therefore to me it was perfect, just like him.
