bridal boquet toss alternatives?

Backstory: I'm scared of bees... like... I freak out and start crying from the stress of hearing a bee buzzing, or seeing it flying. I dont' know why this is... but I just.. can't handle it. I hate flowers because of it. And most of the time I wish I didn't have to go outside

So, as you can imagine, flowers at a wedding can be nerve wrecking... So we're not doing it. We're saving what could potentially have been a lot of money. I was really worried about flowers looking right too. Since we're not doing flowers (period), we're using apples!

Well, apples for our cake alternative (we don't like cake either) and for decoration in our fall-ish atmosphere. But the bridesmaids and I will be carrying a handmade clutch (either done by me or someone else... they're just seeing if it's possible before I attempt it).

If you can't tell where I'm headed with this, I'll just spell it out like a sane person... What am I going to toss for the "boquet toss"??!!

I can tell you what I'm NOT throwing.. lol. My clutch, or apples. Ow! I guess I could see if another clutch could be made and then I can throw that... Or I can have a "garter-like" thing from Craig... but I dunno what that could be.. men's underwear? a leopard print thong? (yeah, my mormon family would enjoy that. I can see my grandma's eyes bugging).

Does anyone have any other ideas?

ooo I've never seen that before! I think I'd still be worried that those metal things will hit people in the eye or something! It sounds lik I'm expecting people to be either really dumb or drunk. lol.

That's true.. part of the reason I didn't do it. How about fake flowers just for a small toss bouquet?

Hmmmm.. Do you think it would look weird though? with not doing flowers anywhere, then tossing fake ones?

No, not at all. I mean, you could forgo the toss alltogether. We didn't do a garter or bouquet toss.. just didn't see the point.

another great option! I was trying to think of all the single people that would be there, and it'd be about 5ish each. aww.. but I really wanted to do a granny underwear toss! hahahaha!

you could skip the entire garter toss and have a nice small gift and have all the married couples dance and have the DJ ask people who have been married 5 or less years to leave the floor, then 10, then 20, etc, until there is 1 couple left and present that lady with the gift.

or toss a teddy bear or something! :)

you could do an apple bob instead. Or buy fake flowers if youre really wanting to do one. You dont even have to do a bouquet toss. If you want to you can mix it up and take the garter off the guys leg as well as yours and throw that. Not having a bouquet opens up a whole new plate of ideas. Go crazy and be creative. Have FUN with it!!

I think I have a perfect idea for you....lol. Okay so you know those thong type things you can buy sometimes that are wrapped up like a rose? Bingo. You can still throw your leopard print thong but wrap it up like a flower. You could even have a few of them as a bouquet.

That underwear in a rose idea is pretty funny.

I'm not too crazy about flowers either but I'm probably going to have them but I'm skipping the bouquet toss-- so outdated. I'm not a fan of singling out the 3 or 4 lonely women in the crowd !!
I might give my bouquet to one of my best friends who will be celebrating her 30th bday that day or the couple who've been married the longest.

Also... my fiance was surprised when I told him I wouldnt be wearing a garter... therefore no tossing. What's the point of that again!?
