My Matron of honor is pregnant, SELFISH ME.......Oh well!!
Ok, sooo it's been a long time since I've come around these parts and I come LIVID!!!
Setting the tone: My best friend and I have been through A LOT together hence the word BEST FRIEND!!! Well last December was another milestone in our friendship, she got married so we were so excited and then 2 months later I became engaged doeuble excitement. She decided to have a small wedding because this was her second time and we all knew that I would have a big one due to my spoil child syndrome as well as this is my first and last!!! The Drama Well needless to say her hubby told her that he wanted to have another baby, she didn't ( her twins are 13yrs old) she finally agreed but told him only after Kamilah(me) gets married. His reply was well she better hurry up and pick a date. My best friend and I talked about this on more than one occasion and she expressed not until you get married Kamilah!!! Well I get a call last week saying she is PREGNANT uuuuhh hello, didn't we have this talk already so as much as I want to be happy for her she is interfering with MY WEDDING!! According to her calculations she will be due around June 24, My wedding is June 26. I know its all in God's timing but Selfish me can't accept this news now and it shows. I haven't spoken to her in a week. So I'm pretty sure she know why. |

Hello WBC Brides and Brides to be,
I'm taking a step back and I'm thanking God at this moment. We get so ecxited with dresses, shoes, invitations, table linen and even crazy bridesmaids request that we sometimes forget the reason for marriage sooo at this very moment I'm blessing God for who he is in my life. Lord I thank you for your devine power, I thank you Lord, for your righteousness, I thank you for creating a path for Sylvester and I to cross into your covenant realm. Father I bless you for you being you and showing yourself daily in my life even when it seems as though my mind is in left field and off of you, you always have my best interest at heart. I am elated to say that I'm a child of The Most High and that because of Jesus I can get close to you. I'm thankful that I have a Blood Bought Right that can't be taken from me!! Lord I Ask that you touch every WBC members heart as they continue to plan to make covenants with you before their family and friends, Father I pray that they keep you first in everything that they do in Jesus name, Amen |

change of color
I love the dresses that I chose as well as the color. I have 8 girls in all and only two are without their dress. But now I'm having color change syndrome. I want Mermaid to still be a primary color however I want to get rid of the black and white and possibly add gray and yellow accents. I'm thinking maybe guys in gray suits with mermaid colored vest and ties with yellow/cream calla lilies!! What do youthink.

SHOES!!!!! SHOES!!!!!!! SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooo I picked the color Mermaid blue for my MOH and Bridesmaids to wear. The pics are the actual dresses. So here is my delimma, I have searched high and low for a shoe that can be worn more than once and at the same time is at a reasonable price. I'm fit to be tired as my grandmother would say!!! I wanted them to have a nice silver strappy shoe with a few embelishments on them but nit look like my first prom shoe. If anyone has an actual shoe in mind please please keep me posted

Good Afternoon Brides and Brides to be!!
I just thougt of a really cool idea, I’m pretty sure I’m not the first nor the last to do this but anywho, here in the Atlanta area we have a place called Cocktails and Canvas. So, I was thinking that this would be a cool place to host a rehearsal dinner . You don’t have to have any experience with painting. It's just a cool place to unwind relax and as well as a chance for your whole bridal party to get to know one another. The cost is $25-35 a person . You can bring in any type of drinks and food, the place supplies the paint brushes and canvas. I’m pretty sure that the are places like this in other states if anyone is interested all I ask is if you get married before me take pics so that I can see the fun you all had!! The Proposal
Valentines Weekend 2010
I was sooo looking forward to Valentine's Day Weekend. This year our County was calling it a Winter Break. A BREAK from my students I'd take iit however they gave it to us teachers. I wanted to just kick up my feet and rest for four days. Well Sylvester had a few plans of his own, I was told "pack your bags we're going to Columbia, SC." While I wasn't so excited about spending my Valentines in South Carolina I did know one thing I would be able to get A LOT of rest.
Moving on with the story, we arrived to Columbia but to my surprise we were not staying. We were only dropping the boys off to his mother and sister and we were heading to Mytle Beach. I was sooo excited I was not only going to get some rest but next to tranquil waters. My Valentine's weekend was looking very promising. We finally arrived at our final destination Carribean Resorts and Villas checked and headed to room 1525. The suite was beautiful, as I did a walk through Sly smirks and says "Happy Valentine's Day" but I was distracted by the breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean outside my balcony. The jellyfish looked so pretty in the night as the drifted off into the depths of the water. I was so into the ocean that I almost forgot I was hungry. We as most people tourist in Myrtle Beach do we opted for one of the hundreds of all you can eat seafood buffets which ended our night. Valentines Day had come and I was so excited to get out and explore. I took a look out at the ocean view so see a gentle man drawing "Will you marry me, Amy" in the sand, I called Sylvester over so that he could see he laughed and said "How Lame! oh well lets get started on our day what you want to do" How lame, was he serious that was so beautiful and I have tears in my eyes. He handed me a Teddy bear and said "Here, cheer up this is from the boys" This had to be the smallest teddy bear I had ever laid my eyes on. Needless to say we started our day We, walked the strip, tried on silly sunglasses, Explored Ripley's Believe It or Not, made it through the Mirror Maze, played in the arcade played in the sand and finally sat down to have a bite to eat. By then we both needed a nap. The deal was we would take a short nap and then prepare for dinner. I must say I did get some well needed rest because I slept for five hours. I was awakend by Sylvester walking through the door but too tired to get up I just lay there. He gets on the floor next to my bed puts an evelope on my pillow with my back turned to him I begin to read the card. It reads 'If I've got to be this LOVESICK....I'm glad you're the prescription along with a personal message that states his love for me and how he is such a better man and how he is the happiest man on the planet....I play it off and say "How Lame" and put my head down on my pillow, he ask did I read the whole card and I say yeah he the flips the card over and on the back it says "Will you marry me1?! I finally turn around and there he is on bended knee with my ring, I was speechless. |

Hi everyone! I am new to this site. I'm getting married May 2011 and I am so excited to say that I will be marrying a man whom I love unconditionally. He is my lover my best friend , We have been together since April 2007.
Even though I won't be doing much of the leg work for my wedding I still would like to pick up a few DIY projects so I'm looking forward to finding tips, ideas, and anything useful to make our wedding day that wedding people will be talk about for years to come . The color scheme for our Spring wedding: Mermaid Blue(Davids Bridal) white, silver and Black. I would like to congratulate all of the young ladies that have gotten married as well as all the soon to be brides.
