How to tell everybody thank you for the help but no thank you

i totally understand that!!!! a lil about me, my mom passed in october of last year i only have a older brother, my family is really small. the FH on the other hand has a big family and the FIL wants EVERYONE to be in it!!! and im not having it, i just simply said the inputs i appreciate but thats not my vision!

Im so with you I had to say exactly that I understand that your trying to help but I only get one wedding and when and if I need help I will totally ask. Something about weddings everyone wants to be apart of!

OMG... I thought I was the only one going through this!!  I really just want everyone to show up and enjoy. LOL when you figure out what to do please share with me..

I know what you mean.  Anytime anyone would give me a suggestion or throw out an idea, I would just say something like "that's an interesting idea.." or "oh, that's different"  and it gives people the feeling that they helped but doesn't mean you have to do it.

I do that to my mom alot lol.  I just listen to her opinions so she feels like she's helping but at the end of the day, its ultimately up to me.

Thank you all for your responses. I like the one about just say yes and making them feel like they are really doing something but at the end of the day IT'S MY DAY!!!!!
