Reception venue!!

This past Sunday we signed our contract and paid our deposit for our reception venue!! It is BEAUTIFUL! We are getting married at a church that is literally 1 minute away and the reception venue is VERY unique and it is in the same town i have grown up in and i just LOVE it! The lady also is very very sweet and she threw in a lot of deals for us! We are having a 4 hour reception and she is also getting a lady she knows to do our cake, so that cuts out me having to go to a bakery and she is also setting up and taking down the reception decorations. She is catering the event and also providing the bar, tables, chairs, and linens!

ANDDDD there is a suite on the top level that i can stay in the night before the wedding so FH doesnt see me :) CANT WAIT!!!!

$7 damask garter!!!!

I don't know about ya'll but I am a budget shopper when it comes to my wedding because most of the stuff I will be using is for ONE day!!! sooo everything I have bought so far has been on sale or with a coupon and I am PROUD of it!!!! :)

Went to Hobby Lobby tonight and got this garter for $7.50...it was originally $15 but it was 50% off!!!! Then I saw these cute little damask tissues and thought WHY NOT? they were $1.30 ...I think I might put them in the bathroom baskets or something!

open bar vs. cash bar

ahhhhh

I am so stressed out about alcohol!!!!! We really want to have some alcohol at our wedding but at the same time we are on a budget and we dont have all the money in the world for other people to enjoy OUR special day!

The reception venue we are looking at offers a cash bar and it isnt THAT cheap but alcohol WILL be available so I consider that better than a DRY wedding..

if we had an open bar, we would have to provide the alcohol ourselves and we would have to choose a different venue.

PLUS my side of the family doesn't even drink ...the only part of the family that drinks is my FH's and some of our friends...

What is everyone else doing?! and if your venue had a cash bar would you make your guests pay for their drinks?

Deal or not?

$3500 for all of the following ::

-2 hrs of photography before the ceremony
-the whole ceremony
-the whole reception
-bridal portraits
-engagement photos
-3 proof books (one engagement photobook, one bridal, and the whole wedding day book)

-DJ for 4 hours @ the reception

-Videographer for 2 hours before the ceremony, the whole ceremony, and some of the reception.

-Limo ride with 2 runs.

I think it's a deal and will cut out so much stress with dealing with 1 business for 4 things instead of dealing with 4 separate vendors...

and the photography IS BEATUFIFUL!!

Bridal Show Fun!!

sooo yesterday I went to my first bridal show and OMG did I love it!!!!!!
I entered a contest where 4 brides are chosen during a raffle and we have to dive through a cake to get a key and depending on which key you pick you win a prize!!! The prizes were a free party bus, a spa and hotel room, a big basket of hair stuff, and a $300 gift certificate to the venue that we were at for bridal showers, receptions...etc. and i won the $300 gift certificate !!! I never win anything so that was a blessing!!!!

Not only did I win that, I got TONS of information, ideas and cards from vendors and entered myself into hundreds of raffles for like "free massages, makeovers, gift cards" Then when I got home from friend texted me telling me that she won the Belk Gift basket and that I could have all of the wedding stuff in it!! How awesome! So I got 2 free picture frames, a wine bottle stopper, a cute wall decal, and some mens cologne for my man!! WOO HOO! I encourage every bride out there to go to at least 1 bridal show before they get married! esp. us brides who are on a budget AND paying for our weddings ourselves !!

needless to say....I am going to another bridal show next weekend ;)

Guestbook & wedding Labels!

I got my Guestbook @ Michael's..it was originally $20 but I had a 40% off coupon so I got it for $12!!! YAY It is exactly what I was looking for too, I wanted a guestbook that was damask and had blank pages inside so that I can put black & white pictures of me and FH and people can sign around the pictures!!!

* I got my wedding labels in and i LOVE them ..i ordered them from 123print.com ..I got 250 of them for $13! not bad and they shipped them to me fast!

I'm slowly but surely getting all the reception/ceremony stuff!

Happy valentines day!!!!!!

Hope everyone has had a good valentines with their hunnies!! I know I have!

soo FH and I decided that we were just going to dinner and see a movie this valentines and not do any gifts this year because we are saving so much for the wedding ....well he suprised me today before dinner with an ipod nano!!!!! >> yes, im just now getting one ;) ! but it was sooo sweet and he suprised me.....which is hard for him to do sometimes! So it was a great valentines day!!!!! and our first one as an engaged couple :)

AND other great news...

I got accepted into my dental program and will be starting this FALL!!!! August 2010! I will graduate in May 2011!!! I AM SOOO EXCITED ..i got the letter this morning so this day has really been awesome for me! Its such a breath of fresh air too because i have had a really really hard week at work and just in general!

Just had to share!!!!!!!!

damask!!!!!!

I've just been picking up a few things here and there for the wedding and came across these pens @ Wal Mart...I will only be using the damask ones at the ceremony for people to sign the guest book! They were $2.00 a pack.

I got the cute picture frame @ Ross for $3.99!!! It's so pretty! I'm probably going to put an engagement picture in it and put it next to the sparklers basket at the reception??

I got 250 address labels for $13.00 !! Just thought i would share the news!! They were damask too, ladies!

I have been talking to a photographer a little bit and the package that i'm interested in is $800 for
engagement Pictures:
*2 locations, no clothing changes
*1 - 11x14 of your choice
*1 High resolution disc with copyright permission for personal use only.
Wedding Pictures Include:
*6 hours with photographer
*Multiple Locations day of wedding
*1 - 11x14 of your coice
*10x10 - 16 page/32 side leather bound hard cover photo book with your choice of pictures from wedding day. Approximately 60 pictures can fit into book.
*1 High resolution disc of all pictures taken with copyright permission for personal use only.

Bridal portraits are $200 ...so i would be looking at a total of $1,000 all together!! I think that is a good deal...... do ya'll???
