Ask a Question - HELP! Michelle Featherstone Song NEEDED!

Ladies I am in dire need of this song! I leave sat (tomorrow the 31st) EARLY! I have looked for hours on how to download this song Michelle Featherstone Man and Wife Its so perfect for the ceremony, but I can't find it anywhere. I found it on youtube, her website you can listen to it, but not download it. I tried itunes but it wont let me do it! GRRR I want to put it on a CD for the Ceremony. Can anyone help???

Leaving for PORTUGAL soon - 5 days left, Last Post till I come back

Hi ladies! This will be my last post before I leave for PORTUGAL Saturday. FH and I are very excited. FYI: LONG POST! WE had the most stress weekend getting the new house ready and moving my stuff out of my parents and into our new home together. As we prepare to leave for our wedding, we are feeling really blessed that so many of our friends and family are able to make the trip out there. So far we have 54 guests coming. Isn't that incredible? My family had a big family dinner for my Grandma's 76 birthday, and as we were leaving everyone was hugging us and wishing us well. A lot of our close family were not able to take time off work so we were all crying cause they wouldn't be part of our special day. I just have to keep thinking about all the people that ARE coming and how much they mean to me. FH parents are offically moved over there. They haven't called much since they left, but they are busy getting the house ready and enjoying their time alone while they can. WE sure do miss mama's cooking. FH has lost 10 lbs since they left, so maybe I don't miss her cooking, LOL! WE have a busy week ahead of us. One since Grandma is staying with us this week( she's in my old room) I am having a hard time packing and getting all my wedding stuff organized to take. Also we have many lunch and dinner dates with friends before we leave. The final things that I have to do is pack (MAJORLY), pick up my dress tomorrow.(YIKES! soo excited!) and finish my book "WHAT I LOVE ABOUT YOU" just have a few more pages left. (FH said he has about 20) Lastly for this post I want to share how thankful I am for my WBC family. You brides have given me so much inspiration for our day and have made this wedding planning much easier that I would have thought. I found many great deals, tips, and lots of inspiration here, So thank you! Love you ladies! See you on the FLIP side as a married woman! Wedding Reception - DIY: Table Number Signs

FH and I wanted to have some pics of us on the tables with the table #, so I came up with this idea using stickers that are easily removed if guests want the pic at the end of the night. (which most Portuguese guests will fight over, haha) We used an engagement pic from Portugal. I printed 44 pictures and I used doublesided tape to make them 2 sided. They cost $13 The stickers were from Canadian Tire, I needed 5 packs because of the 1's. So I have loooots left over. They were $3.99 a pack. I The pic with the frame was just to show how I originally wanted them to look. But as of right now we are using those claw clip table number stands. Nothing fancy like my post before about those georgous stands I wanted. I couldn't find them at a reasonable price. =( I also bought some fancy scissors to but out the numbers so that it wasn't all block-y looking. I have used these scissors to cut out card stock for various wedding crafts too, love them at a steal of $2.48

DIY Wedding - Earrings, and Bracelet UPDATE

So after I purchased the hair clip and earrings from ETSY, I thought to myself that I should really have a bracelet. I contacted the seller and she said that she wouldn't have enough time to make something and send it before the date I have to leave. I was super disappointed, but I totally understood. SOOOOOO>>>>>>>>>>> I went to Michaels and found this pendant and made it into a bracelet. I added rhinestones to the flower part and to the main round component. I bended the metal so that it hugs my wrist instead of being so stiff. I think it goes quite nicely. What do you think??? Does it go??? (The last pic is the locket I bought at Michaels to add to my bouquet with a pic of my grandpa in it. I added a rhinstone and bead to that as well)

Wedding Decoration - Paper Lanterns Came in!

So my Paperlanterns finally came in! I was soo excited! I ordered them from the www.paperlanternstore.com They were BY FAR the cheapest shipping to Canada! I ordered the 16 in in both latte and cream, 12 in in the latte, and 6 in in the cream. I am going to be making the throwies with the LED lights that I ordered off EBAY. (hope those come in soon) And hanging them with fishing line. Can't wait to see these babies lit up =D

Ask a Question - How to deal with People inviting extra guests?? WTF?

WTF! Today was my first bridezilla-esque moment. I am seriously so pissed off right now!!! We sent out invitations months ago, The RSVP deadline was June30th. (15 days ago) We are still getting RSVPs in the mail, whatever, I knew that would happen. Not surprising. What IS surprising is how many people sent them back with +1's or +2's when the invite was for one person. We sent invites to couples, but all the single people were only sent one invite. We are having a destination wedding for a reason. To have a smaller wedding and make it close friends and family. There are 3 people in particular that invited guests who we don't know. Is it just me or is that totally rude to just assume you are allowed to bring a guest when it only says your name on the invite, not your name and plus guest??? One person we didn't even want to invite in the first place (bad blood between FH and him) and then he complained to someone about not being invited since he was planning on going to Portugal anyways. So we sent him an invitation and now he has RSVP'd with +1. FH and I are pissed!!! Another guy who we just sent and invite with his name on it, RSVP'd +2 people and sent me an email asking if he could bring his friend who is their driver for the trip. WTF??? My aunt and uncle are coming and then they asked if my uncle (by marriage) could bring his sister from London cause she is their tour guide? WTF?? The place we are having the wedding isn't cheap and we are trying to keep the guest list smallar cause FH parents are paying for it and they just retired! Now we have to ask them to pay an additional $600 to feed people that I don't even know???? Seriously! How do you ladies deal with people inviting who ever they want to your wedding???

Wedding Cake - Custom Cake toppers are done!

So FH and I ordered our cake toppers from mudcards on etsy. http://www.etsy.com/shop/mudcards This is what she came up with! We are soooo excited! The only thing we want her to change is to move his arm down a bit so it looks more like we are posing for the picture. Also his hair looks a little grey so we want her to change that. Also we are going to make his shoes brown. We are so happy with the product! The details she did with my dress are incredible! I love how we incorporated our love for travel into our cake topper! So us! WE had a good idea that when we put the cake topper on the cake we will over the base with brown sugar to make it look like sand! Isn't that cute?? What do you think?

Hey WBC brides! I need your help! FH and I are almost done our wedding slidshow but we are having a hard time doing the music part of it. We can't decide on what songs to use? We need: *a song for his pictures of him growing up *a song for my pics of me growing up *a song for pics of us as a couple We like non-traditional, new stuff (see my playlist ) The second part of this question is how to load the songs onto the slideshow? DIY Wedding - OOT Loot bag Favor: DIY Note Books

So I was thinking of things to add to our OOT loot bag favors for guests traveling to Portugal. While browsing through Chapters I found these really cute note books. They were $10 for 3! Holy Crap! I knew that I could make them myself since I took a book making class in highschool. Here is what I came up with. 1. I found some wrapping paper while I was there for $5.95 2. I bought some heavier card stock paper for $10 3. I cut all the paper into squares, then measured the wrapping paper to wrap 4. I will begin sewing the wrapping paper to the cardstock. 5. I will then glue down the first page and last page to the wrapping paper to make it more sturdy. Super easy and cheap! I made 25 of these and have lots of supplies left over (enough to make double). Cost me $15.95 for 50 =.32cents each!

Wedding Favors - How Many Favors do you give Per FAMILY???

So I'm organizing how many favors I need to buy for our Portuguese guests and I started questioning how many favors do you give per family??? If I have a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 grown children and one child) how many favors do I give them? 2? 3? If I have a a couple, I was planning on doing one favor. (I know most people give 1 favor per couple) Well what is there is 3 family members? (2 adults, 1 child) Would it look strange to give 2 favors to a family of 4, but only 1 favor to a family of 3??? IM CONFUSED! LOL! HELP~!

Wedding band idea! I still really want the 2 wedding bands. I think I might have a little OCD, cause I like things even. FH says that he thinks I should just get one (not cause of cost), but cause he thinks that if i get two, it will look like one ring, not a seperate ering with two bands. but the funny thing is, thats the exact reason I like the two bands! haha What do you think? 178 days! OMG! Less than 6 months to go! First thing, It's been awhile since I posted anything wedding related. FH and I have been doing quite a bit in term of making phone calls and trying to get a hold of Portugal during a normal time. Everyone is constantly asking us if we are stressed and if we are getting nervous, or anxious and honestly we are virtually stress free. The quinta (like a ranch) where we are getting married is taking care of everything for us in terms of the decor, food, entertainment, transportation, and cake. Whatever we want, they can do. Second thing, We spoke to the Priest yesterday and we were confirming everything for the date, time and location of the ceremony. Then we had some questions for the paperwork that we have to fill out. Right now our wedding is in the hands of a Priest here in Canada that we don't even really like, who is the only one that can sign our papers to confirm that we are not married already. The papers are in Portuguese so I guess if he doesn't sign them we could always get them translated by the Portuguese consolate here in Winnipeg. Another thing that we had questions for our Priest was that the ceremony would have to be in both Portuguese AND English. I understand a bit ot Portuguese but we have so many people coming from Canada that don't. So he confirmed that I will be saying my vows in english and FH will be saying them in english and portuguese. Also he asked us to pick 2 readings, one in english and one in portuguese. Not sure what to pick, but again I'm not stressed about it. Third thing that we were worried about was Photography. Well we finally got a hold of her yesterday and taked about the photo engagement book and which pictures we want and how we want them layed out. She is so accomodating. Anything we want, she can do. No worries there! Forth thing is getting everyone to Portugal. A few people have dropped out of coming. Which I'm not surprised. We knew that of the 150 people from Canada that we invited (70 of which said they were coming from the beginning) has turned into 30-50. I told Pedro all along, I will believe they are coming when they have booked their plane tickets, and I was right. People that BEGGED us to be invited have backed out, but on the other hand, people that were most likely not coming have booked their flights. All in all we have had little to no stress. The only stress that we have faced is still living with out parents. Its driving us CRAZY!!! One word of advice I can give to all brides out there that are stressed over things is to take a breather from wedding planning. Over Valentines day we rented a suite and made a rule that we couldn't talk about ANYTHING wedding. We felt more connected and relaxed than we have ever felt. It made us focus on why we are getting married. Not for the reception and all the who-ha, but for our commitment to eachother. No one is gunna notice the little things that we fret over. All that matters is the vows.

I was searching for something to add to my new purchase from ALDO. I bought the Teal Ellenbecker from www.aldoshoes.com But... I want to jazz them up. I was thinking that I would just sew on a rhinstone clip or something like that and I came across SHOECLIPS!!! Here are some pics that I liked from www.etsy.com I also googled what the back of the clip would look like incase anyone wants to make them themselves. I just might have to see if Michaels sells the shoe clip and if so, what I would do with it. If not there are some sellers on etsy that sell just the clip. There are also lots of vintage shoe clips for those brides like me that are having an Vintage feel to their wedding. I will keep you posted!

NWR: I'm Nervous - Dad Having Heart Surgery

***** UPDATE**** Dad is going in for surgery Jan 6th, 2010******* For the past year my dad has been off work and was going for numerous tests to see what what wrong. He was having difficulty breathing and carrying anything heavy, or even walking short distances was too much. Finally after about 10 months of testing he saw a heart specialist. They told him that they were very sorry because apparently 2 years ago when he had some heart tests done they noticed a problem with one of his valves. They were sorry because it went untreated for 2 YEARS! They said if he doesn't have 2 valves replaced soon then they would give him 1-2 years to live. So he went for his consultation today to talk about the surgery and they said they would like to do it in 2 weeks. (that's Christmas eve!) My dad told them that he wanted to wait. I was very upset cause the longer he waits he risks not having a strong enough heart to recover. So now it looks like his surgery date will be 2 days after New Years. I guess he is thinking that he wants to spend the holidays with family and IF something was to go wrong then he could say that he at least spent time with us for the holidays. The thing that I didn't mention is that heart disease runs in my family. My grandfather passed away 10 years ago from the same operation. My grandma also needs a heart valve replaced and she won't do it because of what happened to my grandpa. SO that's why everyone is so nervous about my dad's surgery. Its a really difficult time right now for our family so wedding plans seem to be the last thing on my mind right now. What's majorly on my mind is leading a healthy lifestyle. I don't want this to happen to me. As much as losing weight to fit into a dress is motivation, I want BEING HEALTHY to be my goal. I want a strong heart and lungs!!!

I was out shopping today for a cocktail dress and I came upon this one! I love it! Its very Carrie Bradshaw Sex and the City (the movie.) The main pic is how im gunna style it up (not those shoes though, I'll kill myself!) The second pic is me with the dress on. I plan to lose 10-15 lbs by April for the event so this pic is purely for motivation. It was double my budget but I just HAD TO HAVE IT!!!
