"Purple" Signature Cocktail
I'm definitely doing a signature drink during my cocktail hour, so I did some research. Here's what I found:
Purple Purple Popsicle Ingredients 2 shots Skyy Vodka 2 shots Welch's Grape Juice Ginger Ale Quantities for one drink: Pour in 2 shots of chilled vodka Add 2 shots chilled grape juice Fill the rest of the glass with ginger ale Shake or stir (stirring preferred), and serve Purple Pimpnotic Ingredients 1 Fifth Apple Vodka 1 Fifth Hpnotiq® Liqueur 1 Bottle Red Wine 1 Bottle White Wine Blending Instructions: Add ingredients together and put into the freezer for five hours before serving Purple Pecker Spit Ingredients 1 oz Vodka 1 oz Peach Schnapps 1 1/2 Cups Grape Juice Blending Instructions: Pour over ice in a highball glass, and serve Grape Ape Ingredients: 1 oz Absolut® Vodka 1 oz Malibu® Coconut Rum 4 oz Grape Juice Blending Instructions: Stir ingredients together in a highball glass filled with ice cubes, and serve Mikey's Grape Drink Ingredients: 2 oz Vodka 4 - 5 oz Ocean Spray® Cran-grape Juice 1 oz Lemon-lime Soda Blending Instructions: Pour the vodka into an empty mixing glass, and add cran-grape juice and lemon-lime soda Stir, then pour into a collins glass with ice cubes, and serve Purple Haze 1 oz. freshly squeezed pomegranate juice* 1 1/2 oz. Hpnotiq® 1 1/2 oz. pineapple juice Orange rind and apple slice for garnish Directions Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker over ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with orange rind and apple slice. |

Wedding Gift #1... FH learning to dance!
"Dancing with Lamar is like trying to bathe cat! Its irradiate, unpredictable and just scary!
I love this man with all my heart! But I am truly thinking about eliminating the dance element of our wedding. I envision the first dance being romantic, a special moment between newlyweds! Not a comedy! I don't want people to laugh! This is one of my biggest fears about our wedding day! So... - I've suggested dance lessons! - I suggested we go to a club together and watch other people dance! - I've tried to pull him close at home and do an impromptu slow dance! - I told him I was worried and suggested we practice and even asked his mom to pressure him to practice! But all to no avail. We are now almost 2 month away and he still finds every excuse in the world why he shouldn't learn to dance. I don't know what else to do! Help?! |

Florists are Evil!
Hey everyone its been a minute and I apologize in advance, because I'm back with a rant!.... I'm now on florist #3! Please tell me if anyone has gone through anything like this.
Check this out. I met with a florist back in January. Decided on floral arrangements, centerpieces, etc. I spent 2 hours with the owner. Upon completion we verbally agreed on the date and all was done! She said a deposit wasn't necessary because the total was under $1000! We shook hands and departed ways! I called 2 weeks ago to arrange a time for me to come pay in entirety. And that's when she notified me that she had booked another wedding for that date and the other person paid in full therefore she couldn't do my wedding!! WTF! I, however, was polite and calmly told her she was douchebag and then reported her business to the Better Business Bureau! So I asked around for referrals from my other vendors. And decided on another florist. I contacted them, emailed over all of the arrangements, I had previously select. Nothing more or less. Stated my budget and was assured that they would meet it to accommodate me. So I scheduled a time to come in pay for their service. To my shock, when I met with the owner, not only would he not work with a budget ($1500) like mine. But that in order to get the arrangements I wanted, I would have to double my budget to $3000. Lastly he asked, "are paying in full by cash or check"! WTFF!!!! I then excused myself to answer my phone outside... got in my car and drove off... never looking back. So now I'm on florist #3... I had to up my floral budget to $2000. But I don't think she will cancel with a warning or try to force me to pay more money! Sigh!!!!!!! |

I love my Save the Dates! But the FH doen't, so I vetoed his vote because I know he will like them when he sees the final product.

I want to have a cocktail hour but I'm confused about what to do...
My orginal plan was to have an outdoor 45min cocktail hour with light food... -Large fruit display -Cheese Trays -Nuts -Bomb Pops and ice cream cones (for the kids) For drinks... This is where I need assistance! Self-serve...Or spring for a bartender (suggested by a fellow WBC bride)? The self serve would include: Beer and flavored malt beverages (like Mikes hard lemonade) ($150) Frozen Margaritas ($125) Champagne ($175) Non-alcholic beverage ($50) Totaling $500 With a bartender ($175 my wedding is on a holiday): Signature drinks ($300) Wine ($200) Beer (&100) Non-alcholic beverage ($50) Totaling $800+ Have you been to a wedding with a buffet style "Cocktail Hour"? How have your experiences with bartenders been (a bad bartender ruins everything)? |
