Chair decorations

I have to admit, I love decorated chairs. But whew! Chair covers can be expensive! We are going to have to rent about 90 chairs for our reception and are trying to keep costs down.

I love the more ornate chairs but they are pricey. The less expensive wooden folding black chairs are definitely more our price range but lack something. So after pricing out chair covers, chair sashes, caps & whatever else I could find, I came up with these.

These are paper flowers, made out of five 5" x 10" sections of tissue paper, tied in the center with florist wire, and used a dot of hot glue to add a small bit of bling for a center. Then I took 14" of red ribbon (its actually darker red than it looks in the photo), laid it over the chair back and put stick on circle velcro pieces on each side, attaching just under the chair back. I took the wire on the back of the flower, and twisted it around the ribbon in the position I wanted. FH came up with the velcro idea since I wanted to be able to put these on the chairs pretty quickly.

These cost about 65 cents each after purchasing bulk ribbon and tissue paper. The least expensive chair sashes I could find were $1 each I think + shipping. But I kind of like the look of these - I think they will look nice on the black chairs. Now to make a whole bunch more.... luckily I have a few eager helpers!

Oh, and it looks like the glue ran in the photo or something, but its just the paper folds - I checked after I saw this photo!!!

I think I'm going to use this same kind of idea to decorate the aisles for the ceremony too....

Those are definitely the best chair decorations I've ever seen! (not a fan of covers or sashes). Cut and fun without going overboard, and will look great on black!

Agree with kristah. Not big on chair covers at all! I love your alternative! Definitely a cute touch
