i bought 2 of these plexi picture frames from Target for $5.99 each. i'm going to use one for the guest book table ("Please Sign Our Guest Book") and the other for the gift table ("Thank You For Your Support"). i'm going to use my home printer and some 4x6 picture paper to print the text using the same colors and fonts as our invitations. i love the damask theme, but i really wanted to focus on not going overboard with it. i think these will add a nice touch.

i ordered these damask cocktail napkins online for $5 for 20 napkins. they are a little pricey but they are just going to be put on the bar as decoration to add to the theme. i love them!

i ordered my card box last week from http://theperfectcardbox.com/ and it came today, so i assembled it. it only took me about an hour. the box cost $88 with shipping. i ordered prints of our engagement photos from Costco. it was only $6.91 for four 8x10's and one 5x7.

anyway, i was surprised at the high quality and how easy it was to put together. i am SO happy with it! it's going to be a beautiful centerpiece for our gift table.

we chose to use the "save the date" magnets from magnetstreet.com as our "thank you" favors instead. i came up with this idea in my head, and it's been so awesome to finally see it come to together. i went to Lowes and bought a 24 x 24 inch sheet of steel (not aluminum, it's not magnetic) for about $10. i found a seller on ebay selling 24 x 24 inch frames (they were not so easy to find) and it was about $34 with shipping (i got a discount because i did not need the plexi. i ordered black & white damask wrapping paper, which i used to cover the metal. the magnets are going to be wrapped in black tissue paper and then sealed with a white address label printed with name and table number. then all the magnets will be stuck to the metal and the frame will be on an easel provided by our venue. i really think they are going to look great!

NEW GOAL: Lose more inches!
on march 23rd i started my first 4-week session of Code Pink Boot Camp (www.codepinkbootcamp.com). they have evaluations before and after camp where they measure your weight, body fat percentage and inches (waist, arms, hips, thighs, chest) and record your results.

after my first session i lost 4 lbs, 2% body fat and 5 inches total around my whole body. seeing results like this was very motivating. after my second session, i lost another 4 lbs - not exactly earth-shattering, but 1 lb a week is pretty healthy and consistent, especially considering that i was gaining muscle mass which weighs more than fat. but the best part! i lost ANOTHER 6% body fat - that's 8% body fat lost in 2 months! and ANOTHER 7.5 inches - 12.5 inches total! most importantly, i lost 2.5 inches in my waist and 2 inches in my chest. if you have seen the previous pictures of me in my wedding dress, you have seen that my chest and waist is where i need to lose inches to fit in that dress.

anyway, my focus has shifted from losing weight to losing INCHES! and i'm doing it! i'm about half way through my third session and have no intentions of stopping anytime soon. last week, i jogged an entire mile without stopping to walk at all. this is a huge accomplishment for me personally. and last weekend i went and bought new jeans - the next size down! everyone is telling me how thin i look and now i feel more excited about the wedding, if that's even possible!!

Save the Dates
so we had ordered Save the Date magnets from magnetstreet.com but hit a snag when we found out that we could not use the image we had hoped. we wanted to us this cute Family Guy picture because it perfectly represents who we are. but, because the image is copyrighted, we couldn't. i completely understand, but i am still bummed. anyway, we decided not to send Save the Dates at all... until we started getting questions from people asking about the date and the details. so we went through vistaprint.com and ordered some damask print postcards (which only require 28 cent postage) and i used a 50% off coupon i found online (always google "vistaprint coupon" before you ever order from them) and it only cost $30 for 60 postcards. i still really love the magnets, so we are going to order some with a picture from our engagement session (coming up this sunday!) and use them as favors at the wedding. they come with free envelopes, so we will have the names and table numbers printed on the envelopes so they can double as placecards. so i'm happy the way things turned out. :)

Less than 200 days to go...
we have a lot of things handled, which feels great... but there is still a lot to do!

Up next...

- get the bridesmaid dresses finalized

- book the entertainment - looking at a DJ for the reception; probably going to see The DJ Guy down in San Diego (http://www.djguyinc.com/home.html). a friend recommended them. we're also looking at a guitar soloist for the ceremony. we may not be able to afford this, and we might just pick up a CD of instrumental music instead... we'll see.

- finish registering for gifts - we got started at Bed, Bath & Beyond but we really wanna do Target too. and maybe Kohls... ?

- reserve a block of rooms at the hotel - and contact the hotel about their shuttle service.

- set up the engagement session photo shoot - still can't decide on a location...

- send out save-the-dates - honestly debating on even doing these. part of me doesn't want to because i don't want the guest list to be huge! the most important people already know when the wedding is, so i'm not worried about making sure they have the date saved. and i love the magnets, but it's just another added expense.

- book a florist - i plan to have our florist do mostly the set up of the centerpieces and other arrangements, but i'm getting the girls together to assemble the bouquets. we are buying ribbon at Michaels and they also have these great little rhinestone buckles.

- start planning the rehearsal dinner - art's mom will be in town for the rest of this month and i plan to get this one done by the time she leaves.

- order a cake

- schedule hair & makeup artists - my gift to my bridesmaids

- print menu cards, program and invitations

- assemble invitations and wedding favors - we are making wine charms. they have these great, inexpensive charms at Michaels, and i already have the wire rings and drawstring organza bags - just need some beads.

ok... better stop here... this list is becoming overwhelming!! :)

we got these invitations at Michael's. they have this huge selection of print-at-home invitations for super cheap! better yet - if you get a Sunday paper with the Michael's ad in it, they usually have a weekly coupon for 40% off a single item!! it dropped the price of mine from $40 to $25!! 30 to a box and i need 3 boxes, so i have another coupon from my mom which i will use today and i'll get another coupon in tomorrow's paper that i can use next week. so i should be set!!

they have a ton more stuff too - i'm totally going back for more. programs, place cards, favors... i never realized how much they had and the great prices on wedding stuff. if you have any creativity - or a creative friend! - go there! :)
