Just stopping by to say Hello!!
Wow, it's been a year and a half since the wedding and over a year since I've even signed into WBC. Wow, the memories!! I'm sure most of you don't know me but I was just thinking about all the planning and wishing I could do it all again. It was so much fun (stressful at times) and the day showed how much it was worth it. I hope the new generation of Brides to be are having as much fun on this site as I did!! Congrats to everyone!!

I know we've posted this time and time again but this time it really bummed my out. The comments on here lately really SUCK!!
Sorry to put it so not lady like and pardon my choice of words but it used to be that when I posted something, I'd get a least 2 or 3 comments (on a bad day). Well, here I am checking back to my previous post of some of my professional pics. I was sooooo happy to get them back and was really happy with how they turned out and I got NO comments at all? So, I figured ok, maybe the new upcoming brides on here don't know me, don't like me, don't like the pictures.... whatever the case so I decided to try something. Over the past 2 days I commented on 21 different posts by different brides. I didn't just comment for the sake of commenting, I really did have something to say so I did and would you believe that I got back two notifications on all of them. It used to be that my email was flooded with notifications that "someone commented on a post that you suscribed to"........... what's up ladies? Where's all the support? This is such an amazing site with so many beautiful ladies on here. How come everyone is so blahhhhh...... |

Professional pics are finally in!!
Well they're finally in, just in time for our 3 month anniversary.
Unfortunately they are huge so I'm having a bit of a hard time uploading them :(. I gave up after an hour. I'll try more later though. I hate pics of me but I will say I LOVE how they turned out. |

Ribbon Wands for Sale!
Ok.... so I've decided to officially make sell ribbon wands to anyone who would like! As i mentioned in my previous post, I really miss the wedding planning so this would be my way of still doing something wedding related. I would charge $2.50 each (plus shipping) for them and would need approx. 3 weeks to make them, delivery etc.
They are on a 9 inch piece of dowling, with 10 pieces of ribbon (each piece was approx 15 inches long) and the dowling is wrapped in ribbon like a candy stripe. I used just red and white for mine but I could do them in probably up to 3 colors. I know that some of the ribbon wands have only 2 or 3 strands on them so these are a little bit more full and look lovely in pictures of your guests waving them around either at the church as you exit or the reception as you enter! If anyone is interested please let me know! I'd love to make these for you! Thanks again ladies........ HAPPY PLANNING! |

Making ribbon wands for other brides?
Hello ladies.... .long time no talk! Well it's been 3 months since our "big day" and I'm still wishing I was in wedding planning mode. Although it was stressful at times, I truly miss it.
I have a question for all you lovely brides to be. I was considering making/selling ribbon wands like the ones I made for my wedding. They were on a 9 inch piece of dowling, with 10 pieces of ribbon (each piece was approx 15 inches long) and wrapped in ribbon like a candy stripe. I used just red and white for mine but I could do them in probably up to 3 colors. I could make them for about $2.50 each. So my question is..... do you think i would be able to sell these? I do not have an esty shop because it is just a thought at this point but I would seriously love to make these for other brides. Our guests ranted about them. Some thought they were very unique and had never seen ribbon wands at weddings. I know that ribbon wands are becoming more popular though. Proper Thank you card Etiquette
As I mentioned in my previous post, today is our 2 month anniversary and we are celebrating it with NO professional wedding pics :(
When I booked the photographer she did tell me that between over the Christmas season she takes off 2 weeks and so does the printer that she uses. Our wedding was December 11th so we knew that we wouldn't see any pictures til at least the 2nd week of January but it's now almost the middle of February and we still have nothing. I spoke to her last week and she said that our album is at the printers and we should have it in about a week and a half. I understand and am not upset really (just a bit anxious) but I am wondering what our guest are thinking. We haven't sent thank you cards to anyone yet because we are waiting on the picures. I have read before that it is acceptable to send thank you cards up to A YEAR AFTER THE WEDDING??? Are you kidding me??? Isn't that a bit much? So my question to you ladies is............ imagine that you were at my wedding and here it is 2 months later with no thank you card yet. Would you be upset? How much longer would you say is acceptable. Forget the proper "etiquette", what do you personally think? |

Happy Anniversary to US!
Today is our 2 month anniversary.
Well after reading Macbrides update I realized that today is our 2 month anniversary and figured I'd post an update for us as well.
Well..... things are not alot different for us. We are settling into the house nicely and really feeling good that it is "ours". We rented for so long that it is such a nice feeling to know that we finally have something of our own. Some of you may have read my previous post about wanting to have another baby. Well we have since decided that maybe we shouldn't tempt fate. I am blessed with 4 beautiful, healthy children (2 of which are with Carlos). I am now almost 41 years old (YIKES) and with each passing day, the idea of getting pregnant gets more and more risky. Carlos and I have decided that we should just look forward to enjoying what we have and focus on our family. We are happy with what we have. A couple of years ago, Carlos and I decided that we are going to take a family vacation every year. In May of 2009 and also in May of 2010 we went to Disney World and LOVED it. We really wanted to go back this year in May but realized that it just isn't possible so soon after the wedding. We ended up getting in over our heads a little bit with the wedding budget and ended up borrowing some money towards the end. We need to pay that small debt off before taking a vacation. We booked it already but instead of May, we booked it for December 2011. We will celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and our daughter Emma's 6th birthday in Disney! Other than that, things with us haven't changed much. I love all you lovely ladies here so I do try and stay active on here. I love reading all your updates and "meeting" all the new brides to be. A VERY special shoutout to a VERY special bride
Hannikay's day is today!
I am so beyond excited for Hannah and Jason to be finally becoming husband and wife today!!
Hannah was/is one of the first brides on here that for some reason I felt a special connection to. She always made the time to comment on my posts and they were always the cutest, most positive constructive comments. No matter how busy her own wedding planning became, she always made time for all of the other brides! I think I speak for everyone, We love you Hannah! You are probably sleeping right now or at least trying to. The current time here is 10:00 am on Friday February 11th whereas there in Australia it is already about 2:00 am on Saturday February 12th. (only a few more hours to go) I hope you are sleeping well my dear and have the most AMAZING wedding! You and Jason really do deserve it! Also... there are some other very special ladies who will be tying the knot this weekend such as mibride080610, selenalovesisaiah, sar0724, vintagelover. All the best to all of you. Candy buffet jars and scoops for sale! Also, 5 bags of colorfil vase filler!
Well I'm finally getting around to getting rid of these babies! Man, they take up room.
Anyhow, there are about 8 or 9 of them and 6 scoops. Unfortunately the big brandy glass got broken which is why I want to get rid of them. I really don't want any more to get broken. There is also a glass lazy susan that I didn't use that I will throw in as well. We were going to use it for some assorted chocolates but when it came down to the last few days we realized how stretched our budget was and decided against buying more candies. In total I spent about $120 on the jars, the lazy susan and the scoops and would like to get $50 for everything. I also have 5 bags of colorfil vase filler. I paid $12 for all of it and would like to get $8. I would be willing to deliver to anyone who is interested in the GTA or Durham. I live in Oshawa and work in Scarborough so maybe if anyone is interested we could meet part way? Let me know. The set up you see here (at the actual wedding) was for 100 people and we actually had left overs! Let me know!! Thanks ladies :) |

So, we started planning this wedding in November 2009, giving us almost 14 months to plan it. It's my 2nd wedding and FH (Carlos) 1st so it's not small but far from a big wedding. We're aiming for about 125 ppl. which includes a wedding party of 14 plus us! Lots of friends and family together to hopefully have a great time. Seeing the wedding is in December, we're having a red, white and silver theme without having it too "Christmassy"......
