DIY Wedding
Signature drink during cocktail hour

We've been thinking about our keeping our cocktail hour fairly simple.
Hor dourves will be served from 6:00 til 7:00 and the bar will be open for that hour so here is what we're thinking. Please fellow WBC brides be honest with me. Is it enough?

Hor dourves:
1. Meatballs
2. Chicken Skewers
3. Breaded shrimp
4. Mini spinach pies

We are allowed 4 choices so we chose these ones becuase it includes a beef, chicken, seafood and a veggie.

Cocktails:
1. Sparkling wine with hibiscus flower in syrup (to go with the red theme)
2. Vodka Sunrise - 1.5oz vodka, 1.5oz grenadine, 3 parts orange juice
(again to go with the red theme)

The closer it gets to the wedding date, the tighter our budget has become. We were trying to find a signature drink that wouldn't involve too many ingredients.

Please be honest, is it enough? Also, if anyone knows of any other red signature drinks that may be better, please share.

Thanks ladies!!

Actually, I don't think that's the pic. There was no picture of it. I just really liked the one in the picture but have no idea what it is.
I want something red but don't know if the vodka sunrise will be red because of the orange juice.

Oops... as for the average $$$, I don't know but we are supplying our own alcohol. We have already budgeted for the vodka, we'd just have to buy the grenadine and I guess orange juice

I know all about tighening budgets and I think signature drinks are a perfect solution. Those both sound really nice.

I am a bartender and i can tell you the first pic definitely is not a vodka sunrise... they actually turn out to be a pinky orange color when made.. I am also going with a red theme and bought the hibiscus flowers, they are nice but expensive and not red like that picture. What i would recommend....... Smirnoff makes a premixed drink (pomegranate martini) comes in a gallon size container for roughly $15-$20 each (depending on your local stores) It is the perfect color, tastes great, and can be garnished with just a lemon twist ... I would totally have this at my wedding if we were allowed to bring in our own liquor...

Thanks kmz330, I knew that it wasn't a vodka sunrise but I couldn't figure out what it was. I really like the look of it though. The vodka sunrise was the only one I could really find that didn't have too many ingredients in it. I really like the idea of the pomegranate martini that you suggested. I'm going to look into it because honestly... how can you beat 1 ingredient!!
